The worst outrage ever

Woman forced to not pay for man's dinner:
A California woman has become the latest victim of alleged dine-and-dash-dater, who is accused of repeatedly skipping out on dates before the bill arrives.  The woman, who does not want to be named, said she unwittingly joined LA's most exclusive - and miserable - club on Sunday, when Paul Gonzales fled after eating a small feast at BJ's in Pasadena. The woman met the handsome Gonzales on the dating app Bumble, and said he sent flattering texts before inviting her to dinner.

Perhaps she should have been wary when he ordered around $50 of food for himself alone: 'A glass of Pinot, a Caesar salad with a side of shrimp, a steak, and a baked potato.' That's $50 of food - not including tax and tip. With just half a potato left to go, Gonzales excused himself to take a call on his cell phone - and never returned.
There ought to be a law!

Why not women get away with it enough!

Seriously. Look at that man's face! It screams out "DOUCHE"! And seeing as though women are supposed to have a "sixth" sense and are supposed to be smarter than us, all these gals should have had an inkling. But no. They sure as hell didn't care as going to an expensive restaurant with an attractive yet strange man that they met online clouded their judgment.

And as a bonus, you can tell even the woman with the blurred face doesn't look attractive. That in retrospect should have another clue. Clearly, You-Go-Girlism has made fools of more women (and older women to boot, who should have known better).

The most hilarious part: she met him on Bumble. Which is kind of like Tinder except you only get matched once the chick decides to message the dude.

Which means she was the one that actually sought this dude out. LOL.

The focus on the amount of money for the food is a dead giveaway of the real agenda. The idea those were "high-end" restaurants is laughable and that $50 for his meal was a lot of money is ridiculous. So... why the outrage over the amounts of money? Because it's the only acceptable thing they can rage about.

The injury was the humiliation of public evaluation followed by rejection. Women cannot tolerate being shamed. At all. To be forced to pay for the meal he ate prior to rejecting her added insult to the injury of public shaming.

Consider the power of such a quiet, thorough, public rejection. No emotional scene followed by choice insults and stomping out, just the silence of the woman slowly coming to the realization that not only has she been evaluated and completely rejected, but she has to pay the bill for the experience. To complain about the rejection is to call attention to the horror of being publicly rejected, so they screech about the money.

Yet, this could have had even more of an impact. She could have been seduced first and the meal would then have been a post-coital celebration of the new "relationship" between the two. I suspect that had it been that way, afterward the women would have been far too involved with therapy to complain about the experience.

Doesn't this publicity help enhance the guy's bad-boy image? He'll have more chicks than before lining up to go out with him, in hopes that "he won't be like that with me." As Rollo has written, women get the men they deserve.

The more I think about the way this was characterized, the more ridiculous it is. Without trying too hard a man can get to $50 for a meal at Logans Roadhouse. Move up to Ruth's Chris (which is NOT "high-end") and his meal could easily have been $90 and around $150 if he'd been picking the food based on price. And that's figuring the glass of wine was only $10. It could have been a lot more.

He wasn't trying to go for the burn on how much money she had to pay because if he'd picked only the most expensive choices it would be obvious he was just out to burn her for the meal. A nice place and lower-priced choices flips it from being about money to a focus on his personal rejection of her with the money adding insult to the injury.

The major point is the man did not commit a crime in any way by walking out and leaving his date to pay. By not specifying separate checks in the beginning, they were joint and severally liable for the cost of the meal so if he left, the bill rightly belongs to her. Which leaves the woman in the delicious position of being forced to demand separate checks to protect herself, or take the chance of being forced to pay.

Most guys have heard of the three-date rule, this might make an interesting 4th date revenge. She'll think he's taking her to a really nice place in hopes of getting laid and she'll enjoy it but instead of once again leaving him frustrated, he'll leave her with a special memory of the way the relationship ended.

I'm sure it's a coincidence that the "victim" is fat.

The restaurant took pity on her and DIDNT make her pay his portion of the bill except for the wine.

Still exerting female privilege, several fold.

Story made me laugh though. Years ago I might have pitied her a bit, but not now.

The Tinderallas have been using this tactic to gain free meals since before Tinder was invented.

Only now they call it Tinder Food Stamps.

I have some pity for her. She might be a very nice person honestly trying to find a serious relationship. Cultural expectation is the guy pays, or failing that, pays at least for himself.

What's odd about this story is that he ducked out the back door a couple times in Los Angeles and it made international news. If he'd raped and killed her that would have been a local story. But no, he left without paying, leaving her in an awkward position and shocking reporters in London.
