The real Warrior Women
Unsurprisingly, it turns out that putting young women in the military does not turn them into stone cold killers that are just like men only deadlier. It seems that they still play dress up, pose, and put their assets on display to attract male attention, only with military gear instead of makeup kits.
Funny how one never seems to read about this sort of thing in any of the military SF that was published over the last 40 years. Let's face it, not only is the Warrior Woman a fictional concept, these "soldiers" are far more likely to fall on their backs before the enemy than shoot at him.

Those pics are screaming "Daddy, mommy, we're going to get fucked! See ya!"
I mean THAT PIC is screaming...sheesshhh!!!
For the first time in my life... I almost feel like enlisting.
I dunno, I've seen some pretty damn goofy pictures of male soldiers in the barracks as well.
If there's a difference, it's that male goofiness seems to be playing against male sexual stereotypes, while this plays into female stereotypes.
Seeing a big, beefy guy in a grass skirt and a coconut bikini is humorous bordering on ridiculous, while these girls are obviously, you know, girls.
How long would they do/last at Combat Outpost Keating?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kamdesh.
Girls just playing dress up.

It's not the goofy aspect, it's the trying to be sexy aspect, that tends to indicate they aren't warriors.
Damn. You mean "Starship Troopers" was a lie? Sonofabitch.
How long would they do/last at Combat Outpost Keating?
Long enough to provide some entertainment for the victors...
Wait, women in the military have *long* hair while civilian women favour *short* no-nonsense ones? How does that happen?
Vox, this is just an isolated incident. How do you know such behavior is common among female soldiers?
Alright. This is true. I just know and that is all I am sayin.
Ah, I see your military has a camp-followers division. Is it part of the Quartermaster Corps?
Their lack of muscular development is a bigger problem than the posing. They'll never be prepared for combat, but girls prepared to play soccer or softball are fitter than this.
@ Wilson
Was thinking the same thing, how on earth can these women last on a battlefield, or even get through basic? Is it really that simple for women?
Israel is not serious about war, or this nonsense would not be happening.
But they learn krav maga!
these "soldiers" are far more likely to fall on their backs before the enemy than shoot at him.
Serious question: Historically, what usually happens to female soldiers when captured by the enemy? Are they typically treated the same as male POWs, or are they likely to be gang-raped?
Historically, there are no female soldiers.
This is my rifle and this is my gun.
Loki, it is a secondary MOS assigned upon graduation from basic training. 6911, Physical Needs Relief Specialist. Every women is eligible, regardless of primary MOS, but they are rated and promoted based on their MOS proficiency in that secondary MOS. This allows any woman to fill these vital and necessary positions, which may include Missionary, Cowgirl, Doggie, etc.
"Serious question: Historically, what usually happens to female soldiers when captured by the enemy? Are they typically treated the same as male POWs, or are they likely to be gang-raped?"
The few cases I know of were women took up arms and lost they ended up being sex slaves for the rest of their lives.
From what I've read, the female soldier captured in the first gulf war was quite frequently raped until she was turned back over to the Americans.
Of course they kept this vewy vewy quiet. The Repubs wanted the war to be popular, and the Demos wanted to make sure women were not banned from front line combat positions.
Yeah, that's right, just another example of both parties looking out for their constituents.
I dont get why Israel is playing pc/multiculturalism game. Theyre not blessed by geographics like the US, surrounded by ocean on two sides, and only two neighbors. Theyre instead surrounded by countries that would just as easily invade them today if they didnt think theyd get nuked. But with this kind of cowering to women - lowering standards in order to let them into the military, allowing divorce in civil courts rather than rabbinic courts, and even the outrage of Israeli police forcing men to pray alongside women at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, it becomes less and less believable that Israel has the stomach to do what is necessary to keep back the Muslim horde.
Israel is the canary in the coal mine for how ineffective women truly are in the military. The U.S. has a better geographic location and greater resources to overcome such a huge miscalculation.
Wasn't it here that someone revealed that Israeli female soldiers are not ever actually assigned combat roles?
Is any war Israel is likely to get into going to be decided by their own combat troops on the ground? Wouldn't they be badly outnumbered in any conflict with Arab/Muslim forces? It seems to me that if Israel gets into a war, they'll win through superior firepower (nukes) or because US troops swoop in and take over. That would mean they can afford to play games with their troops -- at least some types of them -- because they won't be the deciding factor.
i'll fuck a military girl. but i'll NEVER commit to one.
"Is any war Israel is likely to get into going to be decided by their own combat troops on the ground? Wouldn't they be badly outnumbered in any conflict with Arab/Muslim forces?"
They've been badly outnumbered on the ground in every war they've ever fought, and whipped ass regardless, because the Arabs were (and are) cowardly incompetents.
They will win through superior conventional firepower assisted by air superiority, just like the US does.
"Historically, what usually happens to female soldiers when captured by the enemy? Are they typically treated the same as male POWs, or are they likely to be gang-raped?"
They are usually shot out of hand because their principal combat role is something that all soldiers hate -- a sniper. Or they are spies / partisans behind the enemy lines, who are also usually shot when captured.
I will definitely agree that women do not belong in the military, at least not in deployed or combat roles.
That said, I am 100% for women dressing up in skimpy representations of soldiery gear and posing with their weapons - they can pose with guns, too, if they like.
They will win through superior conventional firepower assisted by air superiority, just like the US does.
Right, that was my point: they won't win or lose based on the upper body strength of their soldiers, so this kind of experimentation isn't as dangerous as it might seem. If they thought there was any chance these girls would be manning a bunker against hordes of screaming Arabs, they wouldn't take that chance.
The US military is the same way: they can afford to put women in some positions as long as we have total technological superiority, plus men in groups like Special Forces when we need something sticky done in person.
Well, that is why I call the typical military chick a volunteer comfort woman, save for the lesbians. Often good for the dad, too. Uncle Sam takes care... didn't Hitler have a similar program, if the baby hostels didn't work out so well, this is a step up. Though I think they are, or are trying to, require a father's name finally? The cute lesbians are usually redeemable though. Most lesbians aren't as intent as they put out to most guys... they just seem to be with other women because it is safer, or easier, and just for the temporary.
I haven't known a lot of military chicks, but they have all fallen into one of those two groups: party girls who went wild on all the male attention, and lesbians or asexuals. Every one was pretty seriously messed up one way or another, and their time in the service didn't help any.
Somewhat related, although I still have my doubts that this is true: http://sofrep.com/21525/breaking-the-first-female-navy-seal-kristin-beck/?fb_source=pubv1
I'm sure these pictures are striking fear into the hearts of the mujahideen
If their hair is that long they must be ROTC chicks. Take a good look men! Your sons will have to address these babes as "ma'am."
Ten years from now the armed forces of the USA will consist wholly of queers, felons, and single mothers.
Why is it not mentioned in the original post that these are IDF women? This is why professionals source stories and how blogging gets a bad name.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2335015/Female-Israeli-soldiers-disciplined-unbecoming-behaviour-posing-pictures-dressed-underwear-combat-fatigues.html
The fact that Israel conscripts all female citizens into two years of compulsory service when they're young goes a long way to explaining this "scandal." It also explains why the army girlz are so thin with feminine hair, unlike their counterparts in the US -- which was the first indication that something was off about this account.
This sort of thing would not happen in the United States because good looking young women do not volunteer for the military here. What little femininity they bring to the ranks is stomped out of them by the surrounding culture.
Finally, this is a tabloid story, which means it is blowing a small incident out of proportion as an excuse to post sexy photos.

The petite, tan, blonde chick second from the right does not exist anywhere in the United States Armed Forces.
And nothing like this could ever, ever happen stateside:

Matt
Why is it not mentioned in the original post that these are IDF women?
Because, as the comments indicate, it was correctly assumed that the readers of this blog were sufficiently intelligent enough to grasp that the women are not wearing US military gear, are not Asian, and were therefore Israeli.
Hence the various references to Krav Maga, Israel, and Kamdesh, the significance of which apparently escaped you.
Yeah, okay.
Blame the reader for not instantly distinguishing between an American helmet and an Israeli one. Shift the burden of discovery to the general audience rather than take a second to fulfill the standard requirements of tight reporting. How many of your "sufficiently intelligent" readership missed such an obvious tell -- so obvious it didn't even require a single word of mention? I count at least half-a-dozen. What is the point of alienating them again?
I mean, fine: you couldn't be bothered to source your material. Whatever. But now you are doubling down on your sloppiness, like a guy who stumbles awkwardly and says, "I meant to do that!" Or someone who makes a real boner and claims, "I was just testing you to see if you were paying attention!"
It's the lack of earnestness that demonstrates the true contempt for your audience; nothing that false flattery about their "sufficient[] intelligen[ce]" can cover for.
The point is, even if certain elements of a story should be clear, it is still a writer's job to be comprehensive in all the standard ways: put a date on your work, sign your name, attribute sources, mark quotations and transcribe them literally. Writers do this not just because some people who are too stupid for their magnificence might misunderstand, but because readers shouldn't have to be given extra homework to decipher a post they have, perhaps, twenty seconds to absorb.
It's not the errors that are so egregious about you. Everybody has oversights, albeit some with less frequency than others. It's your transparent and childish attempt to pretend you are flawless that makes you a much worse communicator than you otherwise would be.
Matt
Matt,
Does it matter if they are US or Israeli soldiers? They are still women in uniform disgracing the uniform, using their sexuality. In the end, the Israelis are held out as the "model" for women in the military over and over again and yet, here they are, doing what women do, showing their plumage with some war-like accessories. Nice.
Oh come on!! This isn't a news website.
Fucking retard playing a stupid gotcha game on the wrong place with the wrong people.
By the way, this was a picture sent to Vox's e-mail address. I guess they don't like Vox and are threatening to not have sex with him.
Where do you get this stuff Vox? Surfing the net for sexy Israeli women? Ahaha!

Every Manosphere blog! Unbelievable!
it is blowing a small incident out of proportion as an excuse to post sexy photos.
No excuse is needed to post sexy photos - especially of women with guns!
they won't win or lose based on the upper body strength of their soldiers, so this kind of experimentation isn't as dangerous as it might seem.
No, upper body strength is still needed, and lack of it is still getting people killed in wars that "don't matter" (i.e. the ones the US has fought since 2001). If Israel fought a big war,
(oops) women would either not fight in combat roles or IDF combat effectiveness would suffer.
I can remember In Malla Fides article on self-shooters. Israel, U.S., girls will make white knights cry about their princesses in any country.
As a chap who only saw the military in the state guard (reservist never out of country), women did not help the formation of comradeship. Even in a very easy training unit environment, their presence seems to cause all sorts of problems, with this small cliché mad at that one, all sorts of stupid drama and worst of all, the inevitable accusations of harassment. The young Girls really relish the attention they get, which is all out of proportion to the attention they would have gotten in any bar in the real world. Some, not all, go out of their way to flirt with everyone male and use this to their advantage, then the moment they get hauled up short for something (like falling out of a formation run) attempt to use the harassment card. Bad idea, they need to bring back the WAC.
On the other hand, the Israeli draft is an entirely different matter. Women are drafted for a shorter time then men and not used in combat or combat support roles. They are used for limited service support, technical roles (air force), communication centers, medical, and training roles, where from what little I have been told they do a reasonable role. This releases more men to fill out the combat units; the Israeli army in any war is at its greatest strength at the beginning of the war, when all the reservists have been called up into the combat units.
But that is not the real treason for the women to be drafted. What the female draft really accomplishes is establishing a common culture for the nation, so that the necessary state of mental and military guard is maintained. Those young cute chicks are made aware, at the onset of adult hood, that if the Israeli army is not strong their tender twats may be reached by Arab pricks, and hence their spawn will be Muslims. That goes a long way to making the women supportive of the Army and the essential nature of Israel, which is a barracks state. It allows some semblance of a common culture, in a nation with folks from all over the world. In a state that cannot lose its focus on defense, and allows women to vote, it is a good idea, as otherwise ½ of your population might fall under the sway of a charismatic leader promising all sort of stupid Kum-bya crap like peace with the Arabs if they disarm, etc.
You know, one valid reason for drafting women could be (per Sam's comment) to acquaint them with the basics of combat so that if and when the PLO (we'll use their real name here) gets into their communities, they'll at least have a chance.
That said, the picture makes pretty clear that if the situation called for upper body strength, or for that matter much lower body strength, the young ladies in question would not be doing so well.
@Matthew King - The soldiers are all thin and none of them are black, pregnant, or wearing a veil so that should be enough to let you know it's not America.
It's worth mentioning that while the IDF likes to look really progressive, when the rubber meats the road it's almost exclusively a male show. They're not complete idiots. From Wiki: "Women currently make up 3% of the IDF's combat soldiers"
And I'd put pretty good money on even that 3% being skewed toward the less-risky combat positions.
Ok, found an article for the photo http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2335015/Female-Israeli-soldiers-disciplined-unbecoming-behaviour-posing-pictures-dressed-underwear-combat-fatigues.html
Sam the man - supposedly for border patrol, too.
Regarding fostering a common culture: the draft doesn't seem to have helped with the abortion or birth rate in Israel.
Which reminds me - "You mean Israeli women aren't like Ziva David on NCIS?"
Inane Rambler, Beck would fail a karyotype, as well as gestating a baby using "her" own uterus (and ova). Still a man to the day he dies, guaranteed, if an emasculated, mutilated, mentally damaged one.
Luke: "Beck would fail a karyotype, as well as gestating a baby using "her" own uterus (and ova). Still a man to the day he dies, guaranteed, if an emasculated, mutilated, mentally damaged one."
I don't disagree, it's just that that story is too weird for me to wrap my head around.
Vox, as someone who boasts about always linking to original sources, I do think it matters that the picture was used unlinked. "Walla" is an Israeli site, which would be another tell, for those who know that.
In Israel, women are subject to the draft, though any woman can opt to do "National Service" instead (hospital work and the like). I don't know the rules for opting out altogether, but I think you can claim a religious exemption, which the so-called "ultra-orthodox" use in large numbers. Though my neighbor's youngest daughter first opted out, then later enlisted, out of the blue. She's doing "lots of stuff with computers" but was otherwise vague. Still, she's just as cute as any of the above girls pictured (and I assume their faces match their bodies), and could easily be one of them.
IDF, I salute you! involuntarily.
