Feature, not bug

It is reported that Hillary Clinton voters are cutting supporters of the God-Emperor Ascendant out of their lives:
Many Hillary Clinton voters have ceased communicating with friends, and even family members, who voted for Donald Trump. It is so common that the New York Times published a front-page article on the subject headlined “Political Divide Splits Relationships — and Thanksgiving, Too.”

The article begins with three stories: Matthew Horn, a software engineer from Boulder, Colo., canceled Christmas plans with his family in Texas. Nancy Sundin, a social worker in Spokane, Wash., has called off Thanksgiving with her mother and brother. Ruth Dorancy, a software designer in Chicago, decided to move her wedding so that her fiancĂ©’s grandmother and aunt, strong Trump supporters from Florida, could not attend.

The Times acknowledges that this phenomenon is one-sided, saying, “Democrats have dug in their heels, and in some cases are refusing to sit across the table from relatives who voted for President-elect Donald J. Trump.” A number of people who voted for Trump called my show to tell me that their daughters had informed them they would no longer allow their parents to see their grandchildren. And one man sent me an e-mail reporting that his brother-in-law’s mother told him that she “no longer had a son.”

All of this raises an obvious question: Why is this phenomenon of cutting off contact with friends and relatives so one-sided? Why don’t we hear about conservatives shunning friends and relatives who supported Hillary Clinton? After all, almost every conservative considered Clinton to be ethically and morally challenged. And most believed that another four years of left-wing rule would complete what Barack Obama promised he would do in 2008 if he were elected president — fundamentally transform the United States of America.
Because conservatives and Trump supporters are considerably less likely to be solipsistic, emotionally incontinent, logic-challenged individuals. If a Clinton voter declares that she - and it usually will be a she - is cutting you out of her life, smile and tell her that you are doing the same.

And when she comes crawling back, as she will, don't let her. Never let an opportunity to cut a self-serving narcissist out of your life.

That being said, this is one of those "three people are a trend" stories that the Carlos Slim blog likes to run, so chances are it will, like most of those trends, have absolutely no relevance to your life.

Amen, and amen.

I strongly suspect this depends on the willingness of any given alt-righter to mercilessly and effectively shiv said narcissist. Women tend to personalize and given the level to which many of them self-identify with Hillary, it can be rather easy to draw blood. It's tough to be a female supporter of pedophiles.

It would almost be easier to have silly Clinton supporters in the family. They can be laughed at and dismissed. Mine is filled with the pearl clutching Rubio and Cruz supporters who held their nose and "voted for Pence". They're almost repugnant to be around.

A man should be prepared to cut almost everyone from his life, if needed.

I'm still reading The 48 Laws of Power. One that struck home was how friends are more often the source of problems and downfall than enemies. You are less likely to spot their manipulation and paint over their intentions with memories of good times.

When an opportunity presents itself, such as a friend exposing their shallow narcissism, count it as a blessing that you're getting out cheaply and excise the tumor.

I recently downloaded the Chrome extension "Facebook Purity" so I can see who has been silently defriending me since I put up a deplorable picture of God Emperor Trump, Nigel Farage, Pepe The Frog, and Julian Assange as my cover photo a while back.

There have been plenty of women who have simply disappeared, which I consider rather cowardly. On one occasion I got a private message from a gay man telling me he had blocked everyone on a thread of mine, and would then block me too, and "fuck off".

These are people who have little issue with a clinic doctor pulling a helpless baby backwards out of its mother, stabbing it in the back of the head, suctioning out the baby's brains, and crushing its little fragile skull. These people were on my friends list because I'd gone to high school with them and I'd "known" them for decades.

Sometimes the trash takes itself out. I look forward to more people leaving. Saves me the trouble of having to read their screeching on a thread, or having to defriend them myself.

That's true, of course, but I think the major reasons are:

1. A great many lefties bought into the "Trump = Hitler" meme, and feel personally threatened by his victory. By contrast, nobody who thinks Clinton is a pedophile was worried she'd come after their kids.

2. Everyone on the Left except Michael Moore was certain Clinton would win, so the loss pulled the rug out from under them in a major way. Few other than Vox and Scott Adams were confident of a Trump victory, so if he'd lost his supporters would probably have been resigned to it.

The cruelty of the left is absolutely mind-numbing. As one example, grandparents are being denied access to their grandchildren because of a political difference. That the left actually condones such an evil masquerading as a noble intention, is beyond comprehension.

Well said, Vox. Life is too short to put up with these sh*ts, even if they are family.

The 'coming apart' of the White American family, and the Great Sorting, proceeds apace.

I imagine this is what it feels like to live in pre-Civil War days.

I'm a Canadian man that has taken a big interest in this past American election cycle, as has many many Canadians, because the themes highlighted during this past cycle (largely thanks to Trump), are of very high impact upon the entire west.

I've got the chance to talk to many many people here that were adamantly and passionately (like at a visceral emotional level) in the Clinton camp, and ....even after 3 weeks post election ...still are. Most of these people, so predisposed, that I have gotten a chance to talk to, are women. Fascinating.

Anyway .... though I have always represented myself as strongly in favor of Trump since I saw his first campaign speech in August 2015, I have been fortunate that none of the many many women whom I have interfaced with, on these issues, have distanced themselves from me (family and friends relationships all of which I value). What I noticed in that first Trump campaign speech in August 2015, that I happened to see, was .... wow ... what a phenomenon, even at that early stage ...... his narcissistic speech patterns speaking in support of a platform that robustly was in favor of western ideals and western virtue ...... I knew immediately that this was something entirely different - a man whose idiosyncrasies could work in America's favor - as it was apparent even then that his unusual idiosyncrasies (by political standards), might actually be precisely the order of the day required to overcome the power structure's (and therefore the people's) resistance in supporting the necessary pathway towards upholding western ideals again. Absolutely fascinating. Anyway I always represented my support for Trump in those terms (and perhaps that is why, though I have entered into alot of very passionate discussions, no personal animosity resulted).

So, in the spirit of the above noted background, here is what Canadian women who are passionately within the Clinton camp see with respect to Trump:

1) Trump is very dumb (as shown by his plain spoken manner – i.e. - he speaks like a “manchild”, and his lack of impulse control around the inability to avoid saying very inflammatory things). This low intelligence bodes very poorly for America's future.

2) Trump is of very flawed character - narcissistic, always striving for dominance, with a deep need to win at all costs - revealing a very selfish and self-serving nature - and there have been many many tells for this - and as such the Trump political platform is rather immaterial as Trump's true intentions are self-serving - and as such the Trump platform and the rhetoric of western virtue he speaks of, in support of said platform, should be viewed as an elaborate con game - and all this bodes for a very ominous turn of events with respect to America's future.

In a nutshell, point 1 + point 2 explains the belief and mindset of those entrenched in the Clinton camp. They see the alternate choice, Trump, as a much worser choice due to Trump's apparent lack of intelligence and a lack of character.

It is very easy to discount point 1 in a few sentences. The proof is everywhere that it is not true (and in fact the evidence supports a very high level of Trump intelligence, albeit somewhat veiled). In fact, if you believe point 2 - well - point 2 is in conflict with point 1. They both can't be true statements. Interesting ...... shows that the cognitive dissonance in holding both positions (1 + 2) is overcome by some other unspoken psychic element ..... an insinuation of butt-hurt that I detect. I do have more thoughts on this insinuation of butt-hurt (long discussion for another time), but suffice to say for now ..... such arguments against Trump reduce to point #2.

My contention is ..... look at the evidence ..... Trump is a billionaire. He is 70 years old. He has had presidential aspirations practically since early adulthood (this is a very important theme in his life). His character is marked by a great need for winning. He sees this as virtuous. He is prone to status seeking however it seems he sees this as a means to an end, status is the service of conquest (a very masculine mindset). As such he is very much driven by the dictates of respect (self-respect and respect for and from others). Now ask yourself ….... will the presidential legacy be unimportant to such a man? No. Quite the opposite. As such …... the rhetoric of western virtue Trump speaks of in support of his political platform is not immaterial. Quite the opposite. I see Trump as a wild card but one of such high caliber that it's worth taking the chance on. In my recent experience it is this argument that gives those in the Clinton camp pause ..... for their further introspection and consideration.

I have to assume that this libtard bitch's fiance is a cucked libtard as well and probably fully concurs with her decision to do this despicably petty thing. Otherwise, if my fiance did this to my family, she wouldn't be my fiance anymore.

No kidding. If that isn't a pre-nuptial red flag I don't know what is.

Guys, you're missing a bigger picture here. It's not the libtards burning bridges that concerns me. It's the fact that conservatives don't just band together and deport all the liberals. It's obvious that liberals want to cut off conservatives from their lives, yet conservatives are fighting to stay in their lives (as evidenced by the protests over liberals cutting them off). How fucked is that?

And yet, how very typical... of cuckservatives.

CC - you said: "The reaction of liberal women to Trump's victory is very much that of a woman scorned."

Yes - the insinuation of butt-hurt, that I was alluding to in my comment above, by way of the implication of an unspoken psychic element overcoming and upholding the cognitive dissonance in holding both positions (1 + 2)...... seems very much akin to the "woman scorned" response.

I'm still thinking about that ..... thinking about the best way to broach that speculation with the anti-Trump women I know ....the ice is thin here with respect to this speculation - gonna take some finesse on my part to explore this speculation without the discussions just blowing up - but I don't want discussions to just blow-up because I want to know more - I want to know the deeper stuff as to what is occurring right now culturally, as revealed by the Trump phenomenon.

Western women's misunderstandings are key to so many cultural themes right now. I am still entertaining the possibility that at least some western women can muster the self-awareness necessary to reveal the source or their denials of their own cognitive dissonances. Such occurrences would be something new - and as such a probable turning point in human affairs. Time will tell. Interesting times we live in now.

Wild Man said...

To be more precise, "woman scorned response" = contempt (1) + victimhood (2) = a emotiono-cognitive dissonance, at least from the masculine perspective, dependent as it is on a nuanced understanding of "respect".

Colorblindness will not lead to a utopia.

Colorblindness accellerates racism, as it hides the fact you cant communicate & relate to people who dont speak your language or even understand each others social norms, culture & traditions.

The only way to create a utopia, is to understand the unique traits & differences & optimise spaces according to the unique needs & traits of each race.

It's classic cult like behaviour, left wing politics has morphed into a quasi religion, is based almost entirely on moral vanity and ego, basically providing unearned moral superiority to it's followers and is radicalising people to the point of violence, with it likely to get worse.

i've been seeing a LOT of complaining about family get togethers this year.

and it occurs to me:
this is what happens in a family in which the father is not in control, having ceded power to the Cirinists ( mothers ) or Kevillists ( daughters ) in the family.

women, who both create and seek drama, and who use displays of outrage and supposed harm-to-self to attempt to rally others to their support, will be very corrosive to the cohesion of the family as they attempt to play Social Dominance games with and between themselves and the men.

not true.

HIllary's flaws were there for everyone to see and everyone who was PAYING ATTENTION knew about them. as with Chris Matthews and Young Turks faggots, there is a sizable minority of Leftists who are even willing to slime Hillary for her obvious flaws ... now that she's lost.

the key to remember is that almost everyone on the Left knows these facts ... they're just lying to you when they try to pretend they don't.

Alas, I fear this is just what Vox mentioned about being a three person trend. Still, I can't help but believe democrats are really that stupid, but, then again, don't democrats already shun and ostracize anyone who thinks differently? Don't they and SJWs already push people out of organizations? Like bad apple cops and Muslims, bad apple democrats get away with too much because they're own side doesn't condemn them.

Unknown said...

I think Trump is a kind of existential threat - he's /deciding between, judging, people/. Some people are better than others (Mexicans, Muslims), so not everyone is a wonderful, unique individual, as valued as everyone else. Everyone's worth is now susceptible to judgment. It's a threat to, renders asunder, the radical equality that is the ground beneath leftism. This is why leftists react so strongly. They wouldn't be acting this way if it was just Romney, eg. I'm reminded of Steve Sailer's phrase, 'the coalition of the fringes' - I speculate that fringe people aren't sure of their worth in the larger society.
