Always have, always will. Keep this reaction by NeverTrump Louise Mensch to Trump's newest political appointee in mind the next time you find yourself tempted to moderate or conceal your opinion in order to harmonize it with a woman's.
I read this and started to fancy Mattis *immediately*. I don't care if he's 95. This is what an actual alpha male looks like.
And what was she responding to? This. You know that the feminists won't even TRY to make noise about his language. Why? Because Alpha.

That is great! Mad Dog!
Yep. It's the same thing that allowed Trump to do fine with women, even though he was running against the annointed First Woman President. It's the same thing that will produce a shift by women toward Trump over the next year, as their herd leaders in the media signal in various ways that it's okay to find him interesting.
Awesome! Reportedly Gen. Mattis used to carry a copy of 'Meditations' by Marcus Aurelius with him on campaign.
Mattis will be the first SecDef that has combat experience. He knows what war is about, when it works and when it doesn't. He may actually keep us out of wars, much like Eisenhower.
He may actually keep us out of wars
He will absolutely keep us out of wars. His reputation alone will do that.
Mad Dog and Flynn will be a nice counterbalance to Mittens.
The irony is that Mattis is a bachelor. Which will get interesting, because he's now arguably the Most Eligible Man in America.
" tempted to moderate or conceal your opinion in order to harmonize it with a woman's."
Public use of the word "pussy" to describe another man. Confidence, amused mastery and ZFG all in one word.
I can just see a cabinet meeting where Mitt is called a pussy.

Yes, this has not gone unnoticed. He doesn't have children, either.
Even old bachelors, it seems, have something to contribute to society. One might even argue throughout history these types of men have even contributed more.
In light of his situation, it will be interesting to see how the Alt-West cucks, Churchian beta-boys, and tradcons look at Gen. Mattis.

As an old soldier, he knows how to analysis and assess risk and probably realized at an early age that marrying and bringing children into this world at this stage in human civilization's collapse was tantamount to a crime against humanity, to say nothing of risking the undermining his own reputation as a leader by recklessly putting himself into a situation that increased his risk of divorce rape and career ruination.

@liberranter
I suspect it's because he had other things to do. This reason you give, the "I won't have kids because the world sucks", is pure cowardice and makes the problem worse, not better.
IOW, if you WANT human civilization to collapse, don't have kids.
@ VFM #7634
... OR it could something as simple as this: "I don't want to marry and have kids."
Could be personal choice, could be God's Will over his life. Will we ever know? No, unless he cares to share with the world.
Either way, it ain't our business.
Everyone's personal lives to themselves. Amen.
(P.S. I'm for the advancement of human civilization by *GOD'S WAYS* to be "fruitful and multiply within the marriage context.
Everyone's calling in life by the Creator is individual and cannot be judged though.
If God has called you to "reproduce" in the marriage context VFM I pray God's Best Blessing over your life.
I only take "opposition" against people's self-willed projections of their desires on other people.
You can only do for yourself. Don't blame or "pigeon-hole" people into what you think is best for them apart from Counsel of God. Amen.)

Being a bachelor isn't a problem in itself. But marrying well -- i.e., getting a good wife -- and then deliberately going childless out of despair, cowardice, and selfishness is, IMO, seriously sinful. (This also applies to those with a devoted girlfriend that they're completely satisfied with but who they refuse to marry.)
This goes especially if the man is high-rank, which would drastically lower the likelihood of being frivorced.
Regardless, I'd be surprised if this is the reason Gen. Mattis is single. He's most likely simply "married" to the USMC.
That's how I read it, too. The dating opportunities are pretty slim at some installations. And while the Manosphere talks about the Wall for women, men also bleed marriageability after 35 or so.
But I find the situation amusing because he's the logical dinner partner for single women of status at formal events. One never knows what might happen.

Any questions?
Meh. Just 1, maybe 2 cheers. The guy has been immersed in the increasingly PC culture of the military for ages, so I would take his tough guy signalling with a grain of salt. When it comes to real bravery, no way in hell will he be like any WW2 era men. Diana West has some sobering stuff up about his mixed record.

Sec of Def should hopefully be more about drawing resources back to the US now anyway. The only thing that matters for the next 4 yrs is getting Kobach at DHS and Rohrabacher as AG.
But, but we're gonna fight the "evil doers" and spread our melting pot ideals across the globe, plus make white countries safe for mass immigration.
And when you shake his hand, you are grabbing the pussy. How is she ok with that?

Jed, you have been confused by churchian lies. The very first command God gave to Mankind was to be fruitful and multiply. The first law (which implemented that command) was the law of marriage at Gen. 2:24. The first judgment was at Gen. 3:16, which is where God put the husband in charge of the wife, saying "he shall rule over you."
Does God change? He says the answer is "No." So, either God is a liar or God does not change and the original command "be fruitful and multiply" applies to everyone.
The question, in the context of Christianity, is whether the individual has been called to do something different... like not marry in order to further the kingdom of Christ. If he felt called to remain unmarried because he could do a better job with the responsibilities of command without having his attention and energy sucked away by a woman, that's his call to make.
If Gen. Mattis was so inclined, it would be wonderful to see him publicly say that he wasn't opposed to marriage, but he never married for three reasons:
1) He wasn't going to settle for sloppy seconds, he would only marry a virgin.
2) Virgins were hard to find, but virgins worth marrying are extremely rare.
3) He didn't have time to hunt unicorns, which is why he never married.
It would be like napalm that sticks to feminists and burns deep... as willing virgins crawled out of the woodwork to say "I'm a virgin, let's talk about marriage."
I'm looking forward to Barbara Boxer telling him during confirmation hearings, as she told Condoleezza Rice, he lacks a stake in war because he's childless.

Nah. Louis Johnson, George Marshall, Melvin Laird, Elliott Richardson, and Cap Weinberger also served in combat.

Hen, fem-speak for "I like him so much I want to go on record as getting wet."
Oh. Good. lord.
I actually did that once.
She smile/sneered back at me and blushed purple doing it.
