Father knows nothing

Disney is in the business of selling contempt for fathers to children:
“Every 3.24 minutes, a dad acts like a buffoon.”

That’s the conclusion of a small study done by a student at Brigham Young University after watching eight hours of the two most popular Disney “tween” shows featuring families. The results of the research — “Daddies or Dummies?” — are not particularly surprising.

Are “Good Luck Charlie” and “Girl Meets World” any different from previous sitcoms like “Roseanne” or “Home Improvement”? A 2001 study by Erica Scharrer in the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media found that the number of times a mother told a joke at the father’s expense increased from 1.80 times per episode in the 1950s to 4.29 times per episode in 1990.

But what’s interesting about the new research is that the author, Savannah Keenan, also looked at the reaction of the children on screen to their fathers’ displays of cluelessness. At least half the time, children reacted “negatively” to these displays — by rolling their eyes, making fun of Dad, criticizing him, walking away while he’s talking or otherwise expressing their annoyance.
Disney is an evil corporation bent on destroying the family, Christianity, Western civilization and the white race. Don't support it.

You nailed it, as usual.

I have loathed Disney for many years. The messages Disney sells are toxic on many levels. Walt would turn over in his grave to see the SJWs now running his namesake.

Walt no doubt is rolling in his grave, but that's small consolation today. Where the heck are his actual heirs and family?

A President could crack down on this quite a bit with judicious revocation of broadcast licenses.

Well unless the father is a negroe, then he's the tough but fair, wise head of the house. And his white wife loves his big dick.

black dads don't get any love. They are portrayed just as dumb as the white dads.

Under the coming Provisional Government of National Restoration (PGNR) government, we should plan on detaining Disney executives, putting them on trial, and shutting down the Disney operation.

I meant to write (((Disney executives))).

Great insight. We intuitively know what organizations are our adversaries (talk about being surrounded) but hard numbers harden convictions & remove the benefit of any doubt.

Disney simply sells what is popular and the masses will buy. The problem is before Disney, most likely the education system which has been run as a leftist training camp for decades. There will always be someone to sell what the masses want. Disney is a product of the cultural affliction, not a cause.

Every TV show, every TV commercial and just about every movie involving a family the father is the Homer Simpson buffoon that can't do anything right. Now every show, every commercial and every movie in addition to that has the black man or black woman or any other minority in the role of the high powered lawyer or doctor and the white guy is pushing the mop around or the buffoon. I really loved that commercial by ADT a few years back that had the white guy breaking into the black woman's house. Has that ever happened in the history of the world? Doubt it. The media regularly, the gov't lies regularly, the entertainment industry lies regularly so when any of these tries to push a narrative believe the complete opposite and you will be so much closer to the truth or better yet don't watch it.

I'll never forget the WAMU ads from about 2007 showing a group of White male bankers getting lectured to by a hip negro dude.

justaguy - bullshit. What they're doing is intentional. There are other jokes, other ways to make an audience laugh beyond just mocking the father. Disney isn't just along for the ride. Since they took control of ESPN the change there has been blatantly obvious to me. Metrosexual anchors and lots of time devoted to rape/abuse type stories at the expense of actual sports coverage. And what's with all of the female leads for their 30-minute shows?

Who do blame for the "cultural affliction" you mention? Would it happen to be the same people that run Disney? I'm asking in the hope that you'll scrutinize the situation a little more. None of what is happening is accidental.

No, they don't. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Dropping the copyright term down to equal the terms for patents would seriously hammer the media and entertainment industry. There's no other reason needed to support same. Disney would have to compete with less pozzed/unpozzed Disney from the past.

The alt-right as of today probably has enough influence to seriously degrade that treatment of fathers, crap like that is IMO low hanging fruit on the social/political tree. It is a gift to societies dregs the SJW and not our populace in general who basically will do what they are told.

An alpha will throw a rhetorical pilum from a position of amused mastery, "That's stupid", and then some qualification thrown down to the culture distorters. Yes they will whine and throw their tantrums, but I heard there is this public figure with ZFG what people like that think, maybe he can be an example for the right attitude and demeanor.

The one who still watches products of Disney can’t be considered a rational being. Furthermore who would be stupid enough not to recognize the brainwashing this organization genenates tragetted against common sense and the good in the word shows day in an day out.

I'm proud to have been part of the run on WAMU that destroyed it.

My husband was so oblivious to this until I pointed it out- which demonstrates how prevalent this is in pop culture. My husband loved the show Rules of Engagement (a show with David Spade and Patrick Warburton) and I found it unwatchable because of how the men were portrayed.

My wife and I ran into this while our grandkids were visiting this weekend. My granddaughter wanted to watch a show on the Family Channel called "Brave". I pointed out to my wife that the show was making the father out to be an idiot. I turned it off.

The Family Channel which originally featured programming for the family and was partially run by Pat Robertson is one of the most family hostile channels on cable.

In the past several years, I have also notices preachers making derogatory comments towards men especially when they are addressing things women might be offended by in the Bible. They will often say something such as, "God said that because women need guidance, but we know men are more stupid or stubborn and need more guidance." I no longer tolerate this. If I hear this in church I correct it and point out that this is devastating to the young men in the church.

It's such a shame.

Disney was one of the last hold outs for a long time.

You will find a strong undercurrent of resentment in Hollywood towards the memory of Walt Disney.

It's usually hard to put your finger on exactly why they feel that way. There is a lot of vague, "well you know" type comments without a lot of specifics to back it up. You get the feeling that they don't really want to tell you why they feel that way towards Uncle Walt.

Because they don't.

Here is the reason why. Walt Disney purged the Communists at his studio so thoroughly that they couldn't regain a foothold there for decades. He specifically weeded them out and kept them out. He was the only studio boss who managed that. The rest of the Moguls were giving the Hollywood Ten work under the table before the ink was dry on the Blacklist. But not Walt.

Never give the leftwing and inch in your organization. Just do without, no matter how good that one guy's resume is. Because he will come fully equipped with very long coat tails.

Rabbit trail...have you ever wondered why Splash Mountain is one of the few rides not "redone" into a newer more socially acceptable movie like a lot of the other old rides? I can't fathom why they would keep a "racist" ride like Song Of The South in their SJW converged world.

OTC: I just picked up Adam Carolla's book about the current culture's war on dad's. High-freaking-larious.

Robert What?, Gainseric:
I've said that for many years, Walt would puke if he saw what his namesake has become.
As to what happened? On December 20, 1971, Roy Disney [Walt's brother, took over after his death] died of a stroke. He left the company under control of Donn Tatum, Card Walker, and Walt's son-in-law Ron Miller, each trained by Walt and Roy.
The company struggled in the 70's and early 80's, weighed down in debt from Disney World, then, the early success of World got seriously crippled due to the '73 oil crisis (and recession) then took another body blow in '77 for much the same reasons. Then came the building/opening of EPCOT which heaped more debt. EPCOT has never been a great success and it opened in the middle of another recession.
Meanwhile, in film, they were hurt due to demographics - the boomers too old and their millennial kids too young/not yet born to make good numbers for Disney films. By '84, they were a ripe takeover target. Read the linked Whackopedia article to see what happened next - and how (((Eisner))) and others of the Tribe converted Disney into what it is today. What ''saved'' Disney was not the Tribe, it was the booming economy of the mid 80's and the millennials becoming old enough to become a big factor in Disney's turnaround.
As a comparison, think how Chrysler and Harley-Davidson both went from barely alive in 1980 to thriving by 1986.
