A while back I read John Keay's history of China, in which eunuchs play recurring role. Keay explains how the eunuchs were able to gain power and influence, despite being held in contempt by all the other classes. In chapter 6 he says, "In phrases like 'the evils of eunuchry', the stereotype of a manipulative and corrupt fraternity of falsetto felons still haunts the textbooks... castration is taken to be contemptible, with words like 'capon' and 'gelding' getting an airing." Keay goes on to explain how the eunuchs at times engineered coups and gained power in the empire by keeping hold on minor emperors ("most of them being toddlers with a suspiciously short life expectancy").
Inasmuch as males who have undergone SRS are essentially eunuchs, I wonder if there is something in such feminizing procedures, in the motivation for such procedures, and/or in the social response to such procedures that induces a tendency towards manipulation and power-lust in those so altered.
Slightly off topic... here's my concern with the constant repetition that most women are attention whores, love nonexistent books, etc. It might help Gammas to get a less-pedestalized view of the opposite sex, but it also puts them in danger of pedestalizing the next woman who ISN'T a clueless wannabe Deviant Artist feminist.
