A prominent advocate for transgender and women's rights in the tech world has been charged with raping her wife, The San Francisco Examiner has learned. Dana McCallum, a senior engineer at Twitter who speaks and writes about women's and transgender-rights and technology issues, was arrested Jan. 26 and booked into County Jail on suspicion of five felonies, according to the Sheriff's Department.As any policeman can tell you, the sexual freaks are significantly overrepresented among the criminal population. McCallum, 31, who was born a male, openly identifies as a female and whose legal name is Dana Contreras, was charged Jan. 29 with five felonies, including three counts of spousal rape, one count of false imprisonment and one count of domestic violence, according to the District Attorney's Office. She has since pleaded not guilty.

Yes. One of the most telling things about this issue is the way the entire media (and you can include the supposedly misogynist Wikipedia in that) fell instantly into step with calling trans-people whatever sex they claim to be. There was never any debate about it, no consultation with Strunk & White over the proper grammatical usage. Just immediate, willing capitulation and the assumption that readers would be fine with it. So now a guy with XY chromosomes in every cell of his body changes his name from Gene to Jeanne and all of a sudden he's "she" in every article.
The one that pisses me off the most is Dan Bunten, the great C64 programmer who wrote M.U.L.E. and Seven Cities of Gold. He had sex-change surgery at the age of 43, after writing the games he'll be remembered for. Before his death six years later, he regretted it and warned others not to do it, that the drawbacks were much worse than he'd expected. Yet now his Wikipedia page is under "Danielle" and refers to him throughout as "she" even in the parts about his earlier life (at least it does include the quote about his regrets). The only picture you'll see of him is from those final years -- never mind that by his own account he was unhappy with what he'd done to himself; it's more important to push the narrative.

I didn't realize Dan Bunten ever regretted the change. He became a hot-looking blond, which always makes me wonder of a the starting sex of people I see now.
