Female Imperative, enshrined into law

Walter Russell Mead examines the expected effects of Obamacare on male and female pocketbooks:
Young men will be the biggest losers in the transition to Obamacare, according to a new report by the actuarial and consulting firm Milliman. The report estimates that males as a whole will see an 11 percent increase in insurance premiums, while females as a whole will see a nine percent decrease. Men under 40 will face insurance hikes of 18 to 31 percent; females under 40 will benefit from 13 to 19 percent decreases.

But here’s the real kicker: premiums for young men ages 25-36 could increase by more than 50 percent, and females 25-29 will face a 4 percent increase. In other words, if you’re young, you lose. If you’re a man, you lose. If you’re a young man, you really lose.
Going economically ghost and operating in the black economy instead of the visible one is becoming less a logical choice and more of a necessity as more and more unproductive female employees fill the ranks of what was once optimistically called the Information Society.

Translation: the digital paper-pushing economy.

MGTOW used to refer primarily to a decision to men's sexual choices, but I suspect the definition is going to have to be expanded to include men's economic choices as well.  Once men can no longer reasonably expect to be able to support a wife and children, they not only will not attempt to do so, but they have no incentive to produce the economic surplus upon which societies have depended upon since the inception of written history.

And without incentive, it's simply not going to happen.  Now, perhaps women will rise to the occasion and show that they can be every bit as productive and capable of maintaining a civilized society as men.  Or, more likely, the withdrawal of men from the mainstream of both society and the economy will speed up the transition into the next phase of Western civilization, whatever that might be.

At some point, one has to ask oneself the question: are those pursuing these policies genuinely this short-sighted or are they intentionally seeking the results they are obtaining?

I have zero interest in taking any part and have no memory of ever having much interest to begin with. And I certainly don't want to deal with these good for nothing used up skanks. This is mans world and once it no longer appals to men it will fall apart. And women will just go on as if nothing happened thinking about Angelina jolie or whatever and latch on to the nearest Clydesdale.

The Bible is not a book of the past. It details what has happened and what will happen over and over until the end of Man. Truth is eternal and must be repeated. When lying on your death bed thinking on your sins know that you did good work here, Vox. Forcing truth down their throats is the greatest humanitarian act

The men will just not buy insurance (and ignore the IRS page) unless they have a pre-existing chronic condition. Those women Flukers will take their contraceptive slutsidy. This will make costs rise for the remaining pool. More men will appear as impoverished or disabled.

One correction, it should read "next phase of Western history" considering how far we are into the decline and fall. Aztlan isn't western, and although there are a lot of women wearing black lipstick and nail paint, either that or a modern Alaric causing us to go Goth isn't "civilization"

This is a "man tax" disguised as an insurance hike. So once again men are left subsidizing women's choices...

Only relatively few men are needed to keep the system going by exerting force to keep a sufficient portion of the rest in line.

There is a great justification for American men checking out into their own worlds, to not work, not to participate in the level of bills being thrown their way. With unemployment the way it is and young people being refused jobs by their boomer overlords, paying for HC rip offs are not just an annoyance but an fiscal impossibility.

They cannot afford it.

"Who will pay for it?" was something the ever smart women failed to think thru.

I hope I would see the day where there is a nation that empowers women to a point where men are now housemen and women are the ones working.

Let us see how good that nation'e economy will be.

It makes sense that women would pay less because they get sick more often and have a shorter life expectancy.

Obamacare will speed the transition to becoming unbanked. The IRS can't seize what it can't find.

That’s me. Forty years old and never even bothered to look for a woman since I simply have never made enough to provide for a wife and children. Friends of mine who are married and do well…are married to nurses.

tz-
I actually do have a "pre-existing condition" (which actually means i was diagnosed with glaucoma at 17 and i let my insurance lapse for 24 hours when i was 26). I do have health insurance, which costs roughly 120$ a month, but covers no eye care. SO i'm left to pay OOP for my eye drops; one 5mL bottle that lasts roughly a 5-6 weeks costs $174.

My eye-doc keeps saying Obama care will do away with the pre-existing condition deal, but he's wrong. I could already purchase insurance that would "cover" my eye care, but the premium would be over $300 monthly, plus the $40+ drug copay it's a wash.

Obamacare doesn't do away with preexisting conditions, it merely makes me eliglible for a certain type of insurance for folks with preexisting conditions; that type of insurance costs over $300 a month. Its a big scheme all the way around

The world in all its "glory" is the feminine imperative. Which is why in death man finds his glory.

It makes me wonder when men reject the notion of God...how they are any different from women who reject what men are.

God is the masculine imperative. Does nothing but give and only asks that you respect Him and his power in return.

Of course men should pay more, with our monthly doctor visits, childbirth, birth control, plastic surgery, menopause, puberty...

So...consume more of a product, pay less than others.

Screw that economics crap, eh?

Also, LOL at women having shorter life expectancies.

Modern civilisation is circling the drain, and I couldn't be happier about it.

When my 22-year old son got a courier job delivering pharmaceuticals to long term care facilities, he was hired as an independent contractor - all above-board, but unfamiliar at first. For one split second, I thought maybe this was really illicit drug running. Simultaneously, I thought such a line of work might be his only chance to make real money.

Perhaps I've absorbed Breaking Bad too thoroughly. Walter White's decent into "badness" is victory over convention, mediocrity, feminism (even his loving wife's soft-serve variety), and the arbitrary morality of the rule of law is enthralling. Final season begins in a few weeks. I'm curious how Walter White's creators (liberals) will have him end.

Americans do everything faster and with more zeal than everyone else. We tend to do it better to. That is why we were late to this state based medicine crap, but we will find out the end results before the rest of the west, because we will do it better. Not in the sense it will be good, but in the sense we will go all in and in this case find the bottom very quickly. The rest of the west will see our decline and it maybe just maybe will inspire a few nations slowly on the decline to reverse course. Sadly we are probably seeing the final decline of the USA as it was. Once we are down the rest of the world will do everything it can to keep us down. They don't want the USA as a dominant power in the world anymore, if they ever did.

Which is why both parties need to crash and burn.

Correction, they always thought that the over-privileged white males would pay. They didn't bother to do the math (because it's hard!) and depended on it "feeling" like the right answer. Emotion wins hand down every time. For most women, you have to make the correct answer emotionally appealing.

This isn't a critique or anything, just musing about what a scenario would look like with men dropping out of the economy and as head of family. Would it look something like black ghettos? The black ghetto community is plagued by men not raising children (the women are definitely crazy, no love for them) who subsequently check out of civilization, but who also have a lot of testosterone and aggression piled up.

Are we looking at a third-world "thugization" of America? I can't imagine a lot of white betas turning into this, I feel as though most are comfortable with the delusion because they are weak and timorous, so perhaps, had the country remained more homogeneous in race and culture, would look like Japan today.

Unlikely from what I've seen. I work on oil rigs, and most jobs other than actual drill crew are easy for women to get. Most of the women I've been around on rigs are either relatively useless, want nothing more than to leave there permanently RTFN, or both.

Every man here is in submission to an authoritarian regime. However, many of us like to beat our chests and say we aren't.

The problem I have with this authoritarian regime is that is is feminizing/emasculating. I want a manly authoritarian regime. Something that will do what is right and put women in their place. Something...Fascist.

You mean, such as when men send their women out to work, hand their children over to collective rearing, and then sit idle, boasting of their extramarital conquests and doing nothing productive?

I cannot fathom that happening here, no indeed.

Fascism is not what we need, it is what we have.

We don't need a regime to put women's in their place. We need a regime that quits meddling.

It used to be simple... if you want the benefits of having a husband, you provide the benefits of having a wife, and vice versa. The problem now is our fascist society wants to mandate certain benefits for certain people while eliminating the need for them to provide reciprocate value.

My vote is for both.

Some are of the Cloward-Priven persuasion who want to bring the whole system to a screeching halt. Others are just dumb.

But you only need a few Frankfurt School/Alinskyites in positions of influence to get a bunch of well-meaning myrmidons to follow suit.

The power of the air which is behind the leaders of this country certainly knows what he is doing.

I mean, we know from reading the bible (Daniel for example) that the prince of this world controls the kings (presidents, whatever) either outright through possession, or indirectly by influencing his/her thoughts and controlling his advisors.

Having a harder time than I expected getting my wife to go along with some of the "opt-out" options... I think I'm going to change tactics slightly and pitch from the child safety angle.

Trust brings up an excellent point. Our problem stems largely from the government taking the consequences away from misconduct.

Personally, I think Western Civilization will endure...but the notion of equality will go down the tubes. It would not shock me to see the advent of a formal rank structure in civil society.

You are really not expressing this accurately. The reason why men will have such hikes in their insurance costs is that there is to be no disparity between what men and women pay. Women, on average, pay a lot more for (individual) health insurance. They pay more because they go to the doctor more often. They are the ones who are more likely to take their kids to the doctor for head colds. They, to a much higher degree than men, have been manipulated into "preventative" healthcare (and this doesn't even get into maternity care and well-baby visits). So they cost the system more. Men will simply be subsidizing their more frequent use of medical care. Men work the most dangerous jobs and die younger, on average, than women do, but they don't tend to go to the doctor for preventative care.

Why should men have to do that? Good question, but a little late to be asking that. Obamacare was foisted on all of us, both men and women, whether we want it or like it. Some would say we should get as much out of the system as we can, but I, personally, would rather not. Really, how is it going to help me to take prescription meds? I have so much rage at this issue already that when you bring up the "female imperative" the rage monster just eats me up inside. I don't want Obamacare any more than you do.

premiums for young men ages 25-36 could increase by more than 50 percent, and females 25-29 will face a 4 percent increase.

Details?

I'm reading the articles myself too, but would love your insight.

Found a good quote from the actual study:

Based upon a fairly typical rate slope used in the market, young females under age 40 can expect to see premium rates decrease by 13% to 19%, while young males will see pre- subsidy premiums increase by 18% to 31%.

Still wondering what this looks like in laymans terms.

Add to that the percentage women working for the government and in make work jobs and I'm sure it would double the percentages.

That's funny, I have two friends in that boat. Both married attractive young nurses who are almost 10 years younger. One friend is finally going to school for something practical (after spending years in school/academia just scraping by). The other works outdoors in a "dream business" that's not very profitable as far as I can tell.

Say what you want about Churchianity, but that's where these guys found their wives. One has always had some alpha traits while the other seems to have developed some (he was a major beta when I met him in college).

I'm a business owner (Internet). Prior to this year, about half my sales were overseas. This year, I've been moving one part of my business after another to international locales (distributors in Germany + France). Once that's all good, I'm moving my servers to Hong Kong or Singapore. Or the cloud. I should have 80% of my business offshored by the end of summer, and then I'm looking into moving to Puerto Rico (which just eliminated taxes on Internet businesses.)

You may well be able to dump the nanny state on me, but don't expect me to subsidize it.

Until they invent viable sex-droids, all this MGTOW business is a dead end. Men are hard wired to want and need the female body (the economic side of the question follows from this) and this need is either handled well or poorly. Men can either twist on the horns of the dilemma of having caveman needs in a womanized society or they can learn to walk in the ways of male supremacy.

On a somewhat related note, is anyone following Kevin Williamson Phonegate? A nominally conservative man acting like a drag queen off her meds. That's what it's all come to.
