I am not married, so maybe I’m just being a Neanderthal on this topic, but is it not possible to express gratefulness for a spouse without TOTALLY PROSTRATING ONESELF AT HER FEET?Reading something like this, my first reaction is to think that his wife will be banging the UPS guy before their third anniversary, at which point Mr. Zacharias will conclude that he must not have abased himself sufficiently.
More importantly, does Nathan Zacharias believe that his wife would write a similar article expressing the following?
- how unworthy she is of her husband
- that she has no idea why he married her
- that their one-year anniversary is a miracle
- that she deserves him even less than she did at the time of their wedding
- how ugly she sees herself when she looks at herself from his point of view
- that she often has to apologize to him for things she did or didn’t do
Sometimes I wonder what Bible my fellow Christians are reading. Jesus may not have strutted around Jerusalem declaring, "yo, I'm the son of God, bitches", but except for the night in the garden of Gethsemane, he wasn't crawling on his belly declaring he wasn't worthy either. In fact, he pulled a pretty seriously Alpha move when he visited Mary and Martha and declared: "You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.”
There is a massive difference between humility and self-abasement, especially for the sort of public self-abasement of this variety. After all, what does it say about your wife and her judgment if you insist that she so stupid as to shackle herself to the complete loser you claim to be? It's hard enough for familiarity not to breed contempt within a marriage. There is nothing to be gained by actively attempting to feed it.
And if your first anniversary genuinely required a miracle, then one has to assume there won't be a second one. It's not as if Jesus Christ followed up the feeding of the five thousand with the breakfasting of the five thousand the next morning.

There is absolutely nothing beta about submitting yourself daily to the Creator God. That said, I think many "christian" "men" have made the source of their sexual pleasure into their real god. They are breaking the first few commandments.
To me, it is a miracle for sure that their wives managed to put up with such a sniveling beta boy for an entire year. They disgust me, I can't imagine what it must be like for a woman to be shackled to something like that, every day.
"I think many "christian" "men" have made the source of their sexual pleasure into their real god."
I suspect the answer is much simpler than that. The major problem is the lack of good role models in Christian circles (i.e. an Alpha who is also humble, faithful and God-fearing).
I agree with Michael. The role models we have often get in the pulpit and set this exact example for us. We just assume it works because they've been married for decades.
I wish sites like this had been around 11 years ago when I got married. It could have saved me years of trouble.
I grew up un-churched and completely ignorant to church culture and the Scriptures. Been a Christian for almost a decade now, and am still shocked by the complete wuss behavior of many of its men. The teachings and examples found in the Bible are inherently manly, and yet somehow the commonly accepted prototype of what a Christian male is supposed to be is a self degrading beta bitch. Not here, not now, not ever.
And modern idolatry takes place every year in the church on Mother's day.
and people wonder why books like wild at heart are such huge bestsellers in the church community...
I think the blogger is the son of Ravi Zacharias.
That is why many western women turn to strong, confident muslim men,
Muslim men are not manginas.
Not entirely on topic, but have you guys seen this?

I found it interesting how they giggled when the boy boy was commented on. However, only one of them chose him as her date, the others complained about how mean he was.
*bad boy.
Jesus also called the Establishment vile names and threw the banksters out of the Temple more than once. His first miracle was to keep the party going, after putting his mother in his place. He called Peter Satan, and scolded the Disciples on a regular basis. Truth is Alpha (and Omega). He didn't talk about being "nice," rather, His message was one of martyrdom. If the church would do a better job of presenting Truth and telling the women STHU, we wouldn't have this Jesus is my Boyfriend, let's hold hands and be nice theology.
"Muslim men are not manginas."
Don't tell Nate that. He won't beg to differ.

What purpose do you think a God serves to men?
I'll ask the same question but in a different way.
What are Christians told to do with respect to Jesus and how He lived His life? The epistles are full of the answer.
Give up?
We are told to follow Christ, emulate Christ, use Him as a guide in how to live our lives. He is the PRIME ROLE MODEL because for us He is God.
Get it now?
One last example.
What do children seek to do with their parents?
They seek to emulate their parents. When they are young it is their greatest wish to be like their parents.
Why do you think that is? Could it be because things were designed that way for a reason, as an earthly model for how we should relate to God? Hmmmm?

I wondered too if he was Ravi's son. On another thought, Jesus made comment about a certain Centurion's faith, marveling at it. But an overlooked lesson is what the Centurion said to Jesus when Jesus asked for the sick child he wanted healed. The Centurion said roughly "I'm a man in authority and I give orders to my underlings and they carry them out. You don't need to come yourself, just say the word." I wonder if Jesus was marveling at both the soldier's faith and his use of authority.
I'm fairly disgusted with many male Christian leaders, if you can really call them that. More often some of them are emotional freak shows.
Jesus may not have strutted around Jerusalem declaring, "yo, I'm the son of God, bitches"
Hey we don't know that. He DID after all spend time around whores (Mary Magdalene). He might have very well been telling them "You've heard of the Trinity? Yea that's me"
... I can't imagine what it must be like for a woman to be shackled to something like that, every day.
Just reading about it is stomach-turning.
I'll hazard a guess that such displays turn off many potential converts, male and female alike. Personally, as a woman, I resisted conversion in no small part because of the perceived wussiness of many so-called Christians. It took a strong, masculine Christian husband to get me to see past that.
Familiarity breeds contempt. Beta clones it on an industrial scale.
Every time I see a bumper sticker on a car that states "I love my wife," I imagine the wife's car with the bumper sticker "I married Grima Wormtongue."
Late to the party here but agree completely. I've started meeting in Bible studies with the local manginas of my church and it's just sickening the training they've had during their lifetimes. Complete pussies, worse than I ever imagined. Some are salvagable though. It's been quite entertaining watching the blinders fall off as they start to understand and watching them change the game in all areas of their lives. Going to start a men's group soon to see if it can work in a larger context, Made to Lead. Doing my small part to save Western Civilization. Wish me well.

I think that the comments so far have touched on some very real and true aspects of why things are the way they are.
As society has been feminized, so too has many churches who seek to model society as a means of winning hearts and minds (hint: it doesn't work). So as society has in many ways told men to bow down at the feet of women, the same message is being parroted from the pulpit.
Add in the fact that many Christian men (Christians in general) don't commit themselves to studying the Bible and much of what they know is taken from Sunday sermons or weekly Bible studies targeted towards couples. So what society is telling them and what they are hearing from the church matches up and they think nothing of it.
The one thing that I would add to the previous commentary is that if a Christian (myself included) does get an inkling that he has been lied to, that there is something to this notion called Game and he seeks it out, he is most likely to come across posts dealing with explicit sex or ones that blatantly or seemingly promote a promiscuous sexual lifestyle. They see this, they recoil and figure that there is nothing there for them.
A friend of mine (a non-Christian) had told me about PUA sites and elements of Game for a few years before I took it upon myself to do some reading on my own. What I came across was Roissy talking about how he procured and maintained his stable of fuck buddies. The one that left me cold (and had me stop reading Roissy) was the one several months ago about how while he was having sex with some chick, he was grossed out by the stench of her crotch, but plowed on anyways.
How does a well meaning, dedicated Christian synthesize such material with his faith?
Having a source of information concerning Game that does not openly offend the Christian mind will help Christian men, IMO.
What helped me was finding Athol Kay. Not a Christian and he speaks explicitly, but he promotes marriage and that is something that Christians can support.
