There is always hope

Sometimes, we are so focused on the darkness and the nastiness of the fallen world that we forget that there has been a Divine Invasion. Sometimes, we are so occupied with battling the demons and shadows that escaped Pandora's Box that we neglect to remind ourselves that the box also contained the the little winged fairy of Hope.

This story of an unlikely couple is a reminder that giving into despair and fatalism is not necessary:
It was pure chance that [Chris] Dempsey came into [Heather] Krueger’s life.

The code-enforcement officer in Frankfort, Ill., overheard one of his co-workers talk about a cousin who was dying of cancer and desperately needed a liver transplant.

Dempsey readily agreed to get tested to see if he was a match.

“I spent four years in the Marine Corps and learned there never to run away from anything,” he explained to CBS News. “So I just said to myself, ‘Hey, if I can help, I’m going to help.’ ”

He turned out to be a match.
All that is necessary to resist evil is the knowledge that sometimes, occasionally, against all odds, the good guys sometimes win.

A nice change of pace.
I note also that you've Christianised the story of Pandora. For Hesiod, Hope was the worst and most loathsome monster of all. Yes, women were the necessary evil that gave men a future by being baby-makers, but the future was always pessimistic. All people, no matter how great their deeds, ended up a gibbering shade in the underworld. Hope was the monster that bamboozled men into needlessly prolonging their suffering on earth before descending into the land of the dead. Great pessimists were the Greeks. It was Christianity that came along, as you've done here, and baptised 'Hope' thereby turning it into a virtue.

There is still good, beauty, and joy to be found in the world.

Kismet is an inexplicable force. It's not always apparent when operative, but in retrospect it is every bit as mysterious as a baby (and often leads to the best kind of the latter.)

I heard they make really nice doggie sweaters now.

I suppose that would be good, beautiful and joyous if you were a small, shivery, yappy dog. I'm glad for you.

Who's given in to fatalism and despair? Something ends. The world turns dark. The Light of the World still shines. Something begins. The only desperation is by those who cling to fading memories of some earthly glory.

And some really natty raincoats, too, or so I've been told.

The fact that some people think Donald Trump is an actual alpha is just bewildering. Trump is a phony alpha. He tries (and fails) to be one. Alpha's have charisma. Putin. Putin is a real alpha. See the difference ? Geert Wilders. Another calm collected intelligent alpha. Not this bumbling simplton fool Trump.

Vox, thanks for this story. Stories like this uplift and make it easier to be kind and compassionate to others, especially when they are being morons. We need more stories like this.

I am unsure which scenario will do more career damage to the Vox's, Coulter's,Savage's,Molyneux's, or Cernovich's. A Trump win. where he will fulfill none of his campaign promises and is Bush/Clinton lite. Or a Trump loss. Where he will throw his supporters under the bus and re-register as a democrat.

Amen. By God's GOOD Grace, thank you Lord Jesus Christ for my Mercy and Deliverance. Amen.

Tru dat. Take a moment today and pray for him and his fellow Gammas, who have such hate and envy in their hearts.

M(oron) apparently stumbled into the wrong blog/thread by mistake and lacks the cerebral candlepower to realize that Donald Trump isn't the topic of this particular thread.

Now that's a story for the kids. So romantic! Real romance, that is, not the fluff and filth that's passed off as romance nowadays.
