Her actual words:
About 3 years ago, John Scalzi posted a funny Tweet or something (maybe it was a MEME–I don’t remember now) on his blog about “Alpha Males.” This had been a popular archetype back when I was a romance writer, one that I found quite tiresome and unattractive. So I posted a throw-away comment to the effect that if I ever lived with a so-called alpha male, I’d soon wind up killing him and hiding the remains like Sweeney Todd did.
Then I went one with my life, very busy at that time, and never thought about it again. A month or two later, I was sitting at dinner with Scalzi, and while we were chatting, he said, btw, had I seen the days-long flood of angry comments that had followed my post? Nope. HUNDREDS of them. I think the topic eventually got up to about 800 posts, many of them so nasty that John (who moderates the comments on his blog) deleted them. This was due to VD and his followers reacting with outrage to my comment.
There are a lot of outrage monkeys following Vox’s blog and doing his bidding. I’ve no idea how many of them ponied up $40 to vote on the Hugos (we’ll have a better idea on the night of Aug 22, when the tallies are released), but it’s surprising how many people follow him and hop-to when he fires up the Group Outragemobile.

Whever I think “alpha male”… my daydream quickly becomes a Sweeney Todd nightmare in which I’m serving the remains to my dinner guests, disguised as some sort of heavy-seasoned stew beneath puff pastry, because I wound up killing said Alpha Male in sheer exasperation before sundown and need to get rid of the body….
How could anyone possibly object to a little throw-away comment like that? It's also a lesson in how low-rank women react instinctively to high-rank men. They fear and hate them.

Having not thought about this concept before, I don't quite understand how this jives with modern day politicians - for example, Bill Clinton. I was too young when he was elected to pay close attention to the womenfolk, but I don't recall the low-rank women reacting unfavorably to him.

have you looked at pictures of 'his women'? Hillary? Paula? Monica? all that talk of dragging a $50 bill through a trailer park?

Clinton was rather gaudily chasing any meatsack with a vaguely vagina shaped receptacle.
in practice what this means is that the 'most powerful man on the planet, he's got his finger on the Red Button' ( AMOGing the shit out of all the norms ) was theoretically sexually available to every single woman under the age of ~60, presuming she could manage to get alone with him.
low rank women hate high rank men BECAUSE THEY GET REJECTED BY THEM.
Bill Clinton was a high rank man chasing low rank female tail. this short circuits the normal female behaviors.
She's acting like someone who has repeatedly been rejected or avoided by high ranking men. "Yeah, well, I didn't really want him anyway".
That's why she's having dinner with the likes of John Scalzi and not someone who makes her hot.
to further explicate the Bill thing;
i worked with a ~55 year old woman who was the secretary for the repair shop. i called her 'Belgian Boop' because she was rocking the whole short, curly black hair style and usually wore red lipstick. also, you know, of Belgian extraction.
problem being, she stood about 5 foot even ...and weighed +170lbs. and she was an 'apple' body style, so most of that weight was above the waist.
during the 92 election cycle, she would go around tittering about how the Clinton / Gore ticket was so 'beefcake' ( yes, quoting Eleanor Clift ), and practically working herself into an orgasm right there at her desk. she didn't give a damn about politics or philosophy or economic or tax policy.
she just thought she had a chance with Bill.
also, Bill was pretty dumpy looking himself in the first election cycle. so, physically, he wasn't intimidating to low rank women.
It's also a lesson in how low-rank women react instinctively to high-rank men. They fear and hate them.
Well, yes, but sometimes they start by developing a crush on said high-rank men. When that doesn't work out, the Sweeney Todd nightmares ensue.
Well... I googled Ms. Resnick and having followed the SFWA and Sad Puppies saga I have, from time to time, been unwittingly subjected to photographs of several of Ms. Resnick's friends and allies.
Look, I grant to you it's a weird way of getting there, but it really shouldn't surprise anyone that women like this daydream about pie.
"I was a romance writer" She was what?
She knows nothing of romance. She is better as a horror writer.
We know exactly how people like Laura react when alpha males make similar jokes. IIRC, it was a comment much like Laura's that triggered multiple arrests in the Duke Lacrosse rape investigation. After they'd been accused of rape, one of the guys sent an email to his friends on the team jokingly suggesting they "get some bitches and peel off their skin" or something like that. I'm sure Nifong was reading their emails, was probably too much of a dumb ass to realize it was a joke, and by the time they did realize that the email was serious, the case was already in the nationwide headlines.
...if I ever lived with a so-called alpha male, I’d soon wind up killing him and hiding the remains like Sweeney Todd did.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Dream on, little delusional bitch.
While you will never have to worry, in real life, about any "alpha male" ever being desperate or bored enough to scrape barrel bottom for dregs like you, in the unlikely event of such a delusional fantasy happening, it would be YOU who would be on the receiving end of a dismemberment and dispersal of remains (in your case probably within a matter of hours, if not minutes, after first opening your mouth in his presence and letting your trademark verbal vomitus fly forth).
Remember this, sweetheart: Alpha males don't let women get the better of them. Ever. That's what makes them alpha males.
VD,
is it that they actually fear and loathe them, or they make public proclamations of hatred, but would turn on a dime if he tickled the hamster?
I don't quite understand how this jives with modern day politicians - for example, Bill Clinton.
Bill Clinton was indeed Alpha but, as bob mando pointed out, he was also a complete dumpster-diver. (I mean, Juanita Broaddrick? Seriously?) The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
He is the male equivalent of a very attractive floozy who is willing to let low-rank males mount her from time to time. The low-rank males would, of course, think she was the greatest thing.
Most high-rank men, especially those with better morals, don't dumpster-dive, which means the low-rank women have no chance with them.
Which makes me wonder if (straight) male Democrat politicians tend to be dumpster-divers more than the (straight) male Republican ones. They need to get the ugly female vote, and dumpster-diving may be one way to do it.
I'd lean that Bill Clinton was a situational alpha who took the "fake it til you make it" advice offered as he climbed the political ladder. He banged a lot of the two-baggers when still Gov of Arkansas or lower.
His conquests showed risk aversion and sure things. He did the dirty deals (cattle futures, Whitewater, etc.) and probably thought he or his wife would be eventually caught and exposed as hicks trying to play in the big leagues.
When the scandals came out and the machine rallied around him, he sensed increasing invulnerability and became more bold.
I don't think anyone believes Monica was the last or only mistress during or after the White House. I'm sure he's pulled much finer tail.
However, I don't think he pissed confidence and crapped aloof his whole life. I really wonder if he wouldn't have reverted if the wheels fell off at some point.
From what I have witnessed, the feminized sites advocate violence (usually castration) and murder more than the manosphere sites.
This is more solipsism. Women only take issue when they are the targets. Threaten to kill a woman? They are mad at the threat. Threaten to kill a man? They are mad at the objections.
'Can you imagine how much outrage there would be, how many Jezebel and Huffington Post articles it would inspire, if someone like Roosh or me were to post "a throw-away comment" about killing a woman and serving up her flesh in a cannibal stew to others?'
Yep. Would have toasted you in the social-justice media/government machine, and possibly attempted criminal prosecutions too. But when someone named 'Laura' says it, no harm no foul. No wonder Bruce changed his name to Caitlin. The Caitlins and Lauras live in another world, legally and socially and politically, with separate standards. Then they use group-politics and legalisms to cover-up their iniquity and cowardice.
I think the idea is, "As a woman, I'm oppressed, so I'm allowed to do and say things that men aren't". That is "fair," in the mind of your average SJW.
What deceived and toxic woman to have such utterly dysfunctional responses to good men, the heck with her.
The SJWfeminism construct has wrought such stupidity it grieves me.
"She's a Man-Eater..."
Incidentally, one of my old co-workers grew up in Dansville, Michigan and about a decade ago I attended some paintball matches on his father's property there. If Dansville doesn't ring a bell, it's the place where a man burned his abusive wife to death while she was in a bed, and they made a TV movie with Tom Selleck portraying the heroic wife/witch-immolater. Just kidding, of course...reverse the sexes and put Farrah Fawcett as the lead and you have what actually happened. My co-worker told me the deceased husband's relatives still lived in the community and were sore about it to that day...said the "victim" like to fight too and would scrap in public with him at the local bar.
You gents make this too hard, two questions, what was his name and was his rejection of her so painful that her cat's lives are in danger when she remembers the sting of that rejection?
As an aside Sailer's crew over intellectualized Matt Weiner's allegory, and all they had to ask was what was the white dream girl's name that drove him to his ethny idiocracy.
