In a historic first, the Marine Corps plans to assign a female officer to the infantry following her anticipated graduation from its grueling training program, service officials said Thursday. She has no chance. We know how this ends.
The woman is a lieutenant. She and her male colleagues in the Infantry Officer Course completed an intensive combat exercise Wednesday at the Marines’ rugged training facility in Twentynine Palms, Calif., the final graded requirement of the 13-week program.
IOC, as it’s known among Marines, is considered some of the military’s toughest training. Typically, about 25 percent of students wash out.
The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, is the first female officer to complete the course out of three dozen to have tried. She is expected to lead an infantry platoon of about 40 Marines, a trailblazing role within an organization that has been criticized for its resistance to such change and for fostering a culture of misogyny.

The poor woman. She might as well be wearing a red shirt on an away team:

How many female enlisted completed infantry training?
So a 97-98% washout rate for women vs 25% for men. The first week of Rangers is something like a 75% washout rate (100% for women).
What woman would even want to try this.?
Clearly any woman who does, has to have had a very traumatic and twisted childhood for them to desire to be this way.
It brings to mind a memory of growing up. In my high school there was this girl who dressed and acted like a boy. She had a mother who was shrill and pushy. No matter what her “dearest” wanted to do , she was going to make a scene in order for it to happen. At that time in ancient history, the fall sports were divided into field hockey for the girls and soccer for the boys. That was that - end of story. Not content to leave enough alone this girls mother managed to force the school ( via threat of legal action) to haver her “dearest” become a member of the soccer team. Needless to say, she sucked badly. Of course, despite her lack of soccer skills, the coach didn’t dare to make her sit out, like males with the same lack of skills. The girl always seemed unhappy, us guys always made fun of her and the whole situation created a lot of division This was the early 90’s. Even then I remember seeing this play out and thought to myself, this is nasty and weird...why the “eff” can’t these people leave well enough alone.
If she actually gets posted to the infantry she will get broke down quickly.

There's trying it and there's living the life of an infantryman. One is a (admittedly hard) "day camp experience. The other is 24/7/365 marathon that takes physical endurance, brute force, and a metric ton of testosterone.
Elites supporting feminist nonsense and women going into male dominated areas like tech and the military, it is to humble, mock, take down a peg, mildly humiliate and alienate, basically mess with your heads. In tech white males are to made to feel they're not all that, in fact, they kinda suck for existing, and your corporate leaders would like to replace you, so you watch it white male employees and with your attitude and entitlement.
Most of the comments are typical go-girlism, along with the apples-to-oranges "it's just like racial integration!" non-arguments, but there was this gem by A Soldier's Wife:
"There is cost effectiveness, train 37 women to get one platoon commander. Train the same number of men and get 26+ Plt cdrs. How do you want your tax dollars spent."
i was going to point out that she had NOT YET graduated the course.
then i found this:
"The service was engulfed in scandal earlier this year when more than 1,000 current Marines and veterans were investigated as part of an online network that shared, critiqued and in many cases ridiculed photographs of nude female colleagues."
you notice that there is no censure to the WOMEN for handing out nude photos like courtesy candies at the end of the meal. nope, those nudes just magically appeared in the men's social media.
this is the externality for how a woman will graduate Infantry School. the upper brass will not permit her to fail, so they can cover up their embarrassment about the photo sharing "scandal".

no, she's an officer. she can always order the sergeant to make sure her pack is transported. she can always order someone else to take point.
she can easily last long enough to get her entire platoon slaughtered if they're dumb enough to put her in combat.
kind of like how this female comedian died:

There was another female officer who tried to hang in Afghanistan with the other male Marines. She was being interviewed by someone, and she told him as a result of that experience, she was losing muscle mass in her legs, she was STERILE!! and had other chronic medical conditions that would plague her for life.

This is she.
I notice that the USMC hasn't claimed that she passed all the same standards as the men. Wonder why?
"I notice that the USMC hasn't claimed that she passed all the same standards as the men. Wonder why?"
Because she took the kiddie course.
What I see happening is Miss Jarhead Jane suddenly & conveniently getting pregnant, just as she's about to be sent on a real dangerous assignment.
Oddly if we assume that she was actually good enough to pass the training, her getting pregnant to avoid deployment would be a good thing.
She managed to "pass" despite the handicap of being female, imagine what her genes could do without that handicap? Her sons are going to be super-soldiers.
She's far too valuable as a mother to be risked in combat (which often sterilizes women even if they do survive), the sooner she gets started on baby-making (by far the most useful thing she can do for the military) the better.
"She has no chance. We know how this ends"
In real combat, a woman leading a platoon means everyone in the platoon dies.

The question is, what man worthy of the title (i.e.,one with normal sexual attraction to normal women) would have any desire to get this thing pregnant? Fucking her would be like fucking one of the guys in the platoon.

While "grunt" lives have always been considered expendable by the brass, nowadays nobody at all gives a shit about men getting killed - especially not a feminized, politicized cadre of generals and high-ranking Pentagon civilians.
We need a different term for the situation where the woman is likely to get a lot of other people killed in addition to herself. It's one thing to Earhardt herself in the middle of the Pacific, it's another to get dozens (or millions Hillary)killed as well. It's the difference between suicide and mass murder.
At least she can't crash an expensive plane...

Does she want to get fragged? This is how you get fragged.

I've never been in the military, but I'd say it's less about a man's desire to impregnate her than it would be that on a long deployment, she'd be the only thing around with a vagina and a pulse.
I predict that if this woman passes and is billeted in the fleet, she will destroy the careers of numerous non-rates, NCO's and Staff NCO's who happen to be used as scapegoats for her incompetence. I do not believe she will ever happen to be in a unit that deploys to a combat arena, she'll get orders out before that happens in the same way that an MOH winner is prevented from going into a hot zone after winning the medal.
In addition to that, she will be the source of innumerable fights between the men of various units who will pick on the unfortunates who have to be stuck under her command. I predict unit discipline turning to absolute shit and God help the poor soul she gets to write the fitness reports for.
At the end of the day, she's nothing more than a useful idiot who is being used by powers she cannot comprehend to destroy things she does not understand to the detriment of an organization she cannot ever truly be a part of. It's called a band of brothers for a reason.
" she will destroy the careers of numerous non-rates, NCO's and Staff NCO's who happen to be used as scapegoats for her incompetence."
Something like this?
@Tatooine Sharpshooters' Club
I spent about 7 years in a rifle battalion of the FMF and I've held the billets of fire team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant and platoon commander in a rifle company.
Over the years I saw the damage done by weak NCO's and Staff NCO's who typically responded to stupid behavior on the part of the troops with charge sheets rather than do something that would require actual character and leadership. Weak NCO's will destroy unit moral very quickly, but at the company level they are usually spread out in hopes they will grow up and get better.
2nd Lieutenants graduate from TBS/IOC with some knowledge and no experience. The old joke was a Marine's greatest danger was a Lieutenant with a map and compass. With a good CO and competent NCO's & Staff NCO's, most 2nd Lieutenants eventually pick up the experience and confidence they need to make them effective. The ones who don't tend to get weeded out, often quickly. Weak platoon commanders are frequently paired with strong platoon sergeants to balance things out. The smart ones rely on the NCO's to maintain good order and the platoon sergeant tells him when there is something he should not see. Which is what they are supposed to do.
However...
What we can be sure of is this woman will not be weeded out no matter how bad her performance might be. She will probably be highly intelligent, very motivated and quite knowledgeable, but she's still a woman and there will be issues. However, her lack of performance will not be overlooked and someone will be blamed for her poor performance. Obviously the "misogynistic culture" will be undermining her and preventing her from carrying out her duties. There will be sacrifices to the godz of diversity and gender equality.
Obviously the structure under her command will be critical so any NCO or Staff NCO who might intimidate this special snowflake will be moved somewhere else and only milquetoast NCO's will be in her platoon. Those are the kind of NCO's who specialize in ruining the careers of young marines and the charge sheet will be their go-to solution for any and every problem. This will accelerate the rate at which individuals get burned and eventually it will destroy the unit integrity.
And in the end, she will get rewarded/awarded/promoted and sent on her way in the same way that illiterate children are graduated from High School in order to get rid of them.
The woman, whose name has not been disclosed...
This I REALLY do not understand. For this "historic first," logic and human nature, to say nothing of government propagandizing Best Practices, dictate that this woman's name would be the first thing to be released. After wondering why it has not been, it suddenly occurred to me to ask: "Is she really a woman? Could this be the first instance of a transgender trainee, one who is not yet fully complete in the 'transition'? Might this be a bit too much too soon for both the Marine Corps and the public to accept?"
We shall see...

hah. i read that as "Earnhardt" before i finished the sentence.
Earnhardt and variants must be German for "suicidal windowlicker".
