It turns out that Republicans are having sex more frequently than Democrats, a study published Monday revealed.
The study, conducted by Professor Nicholas H. Wolfinger, examined the sex lives of Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Independents and Republicans are more likely to have sex at least once a week than their Democrat peers, the study showed.
“This finding left me curious about how specific components of relational bliss might be affected by political leanings. The answer is surprising: Republicans have more sex than Democrats and cheat less on their spouses. Political independents have sex even more often than Republicans but cheat at the same rate Democrats do,” Wolfinger, a University of Utah professor, explained in the Institute for Family Studies report.

Women want manly men. This is in line with the findings about the myth of Choreplay: Men who do more housework get less sex (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/men-who-do-housework-have-less-sex/).
Conservatives are more likely to be/stay married.
Those in committed, monogamous relationships have sex more often on average than those reliant on random flings.
That is hardly surprising to anyone who understands basic math and/or common sense human behavior. This strikes me as a water/wet finding.

When they say that Democrats cheat in their marriages more, I wonder what percentage of the cheating is done by the women.

Higher, actually. Most guys prefer submissive women. Result: Only the less dominant men are willing to connect with the more dominant woman. It's like CH says: Estrogen = Testosterone, or Femininity = Masculinity

Probably high percentage, considering how effeminate Democratic males are. I would bet that there is higher percentage of Republican men cheating than Democratic men cheating, and probably somewhere in between for Independents
That is to say, Republican men and women probably have more opportunities to cheat than Democratic men and women, but even with greater opportunity are probably more likely to stay faithful. Hence Democrats have higher cheating rates overall

Not enough information. Submissive men are extremely unattractive and tend to pair with ugly women, regardless of the woman's personality. Dominance is unattractive in women, but not nearly as important in the short term as looks. Attractive dominant women tend to be serial daters, because dominant men will have sex with them for a while but then get annoyed with their personalities. They either become cat ladies or settle for pegging some beta schlub after they turn 40.
Could the explanation be as simple as "Married people have more sex than single people"? Which has been confirmed time and again and is hardly surprising.
They are probably comparing apples and oranges here. I would guess that marriage rates are lower among registered democrat voters than among registered republican voters given the demographics each party attracts.

According to Democrats, especially Democrat men, if you get married your sex life vanishes.
Of course, they're likely speaking from experience and projecting.
