Return from savagery

Is there no madness the God-Emperor Ascendant cannot cure?
Call it a strange sign of the times. Some doctors, like Sterman, say they are noticing more and more millennials coming in because their ears have become deformed from overpiercing and need reconstructive surgery.

And it's not just ear piercing. Many are seeking to reverse the impulsive, perhaps keg-fueled decisions of their not-quite-lost youths. That tongue piercing, that bone through the nose, that conspicuously placed tattoo you got in college may not go over so big now in a job interview, or in the board room. It's time to conform to the real world.

"There has been an influx of people, millennials in particular, who have a lot of body piercings — mainly facial piercings — that they are looking to change," says Dr. Laurence Milgrim, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in Teaneck. "These are large earring holes, larger than the usual stud hole. When the earlobe and other parts of their bodies are expanded, they have trouble in the classic work force. Nose piercings, ear piercings … and tattoo removal, especially on the neck, where it's noticeable, has become popular."
It's about time. This is a heartening eucivilizational trend. There is an adjective for cultures that adorn themselves with skin stainings and body piercings: primitive. If you're going to get pierced and tattooed, you might as well put a plate in your lip and strap on a penis gourd.

Hey now, you leave my penis gourd out of this. I do have a tattoo and plan to get more, but I also work a blue collar trade job where it's normal to have some. The problem with most of these idiots is they expect to be seen as professionals at some office job but they just look like wannabe punk rockers that no one wants to talk to.

Don't Sperg out, Jake. The gauges, neck tats and nose bones are what we are discussing here. I have a tattoo on my right forearm that has helped me in white collar work. That isng what we are talking about.

I've noticed that many of the workers in stores where I usually shop have removed piercings and ear gauges (leaving behind the unfortunate wet-noodle of flesh to dangle from their faces).

Weird, but I figured at some point some of them would grow up, and regret the decision to self mutilate.

I saw a mom at my kids Christmas concert with a full set of life sized, realistic lips tattooed on her neck. She's Hispanic though. Probably won't bother getting it removed.

Guys and girls at my gym are removing piercings too, but tattoos are still a strong trend. And blue/purple/pink hair. I colored my hair like that in the 90s, so I'd fit out. Now my contemporaries are doing it to fit in.

Some tattoos you can't remove. It leaves behind scarring and it's expensive. The 40+ yo women with multiple large back tatts are looking pretty sorry. You can be fit and trim but faded out tatts on overtanned wrinkling skin are horrid.

Does no one consider this when making such decisions? (Don't answer that, rhetorical)

Like this fucking idiot? : http://www.blankexit.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/German-Man-With-Cheek-Hole-peircing.jpg

Always makes me wonder wtf they were thinking when they get stupid shit like that. Especially those types but in their ears too. Bet they look HORRIBLE if ever removed, as their ears will be deformed beyond recognition.

Another symptom of our attention / identity craving environment.

Also even a small nose or lip piercing on a girl looks disgusting. Seen some with really pretty faces, but then a huge bolt or bar through their nose. Makes them look like an animal.

Nothing that a pair of pliers and a blow torch can't fix.

Good news! I don't have a problem with a few traditional tattoos, perhaps signifying military service, religious belief, or romantic conquests.

On a related note, I could be imagining things, but I think I'm seeing somewhat fewer fat chicks with butchered, colored hair and piercings relative to real girls out and about this year than last.

I've seen several dumpy women with short purple hair recently. Probably tourists.

Disney World rejects about half of it's applicants 'out of hand' due to odd piercings (gauges, nose bones, lips, tounges, ect.) or tats that can't be hidden under clothing.
An excellent example of ''body modification'' bad ideas was Stalking Cat. Quote:
As an adult, he joined the Navy as a sonar technician. He left his Navy post around 1981. He then began working as a computer programmer and technician in San Diego, California.
Extensive tattooing and piercing - and on the face.
Stalking Cat had financial troubles, and in August 2007, he posted publicly on his online journal that he needed a new place to live. Calhoun posted that she and her husband simply could not afford to support him anymore.[10][11] She also posted that they would be throwing him a send-off party.[12]

In September 2007, at age 49, Stalking Cat moved to Tonopah, Nevada. On November 5, 2012, he died alone in his garage in Tonopah.[13][14] He was 54 years old. News of the death became public one week later. In an online post, BMEzine founder Shannon Larratt wrote that his death was a suicide.[2]

Quite likely, after losing his coding gig, he discovered no one would hire him for anything. Money ran out, and then he checked out.

"Money ran out, he checked out."

Perhaps stiffer competition for jobs beyond stocking lettuce at the grocery store is sparking this positive trend. Surprised that they're not pushing for more anti-piercing and tattoo discrimination laws instead.

I refer to nasal septum piercings as the "metal booger" look.

My theory behind this is that humans need death and disease because that was always meant to be part of life. When you see the features of the people around you become gross and disfigured, you learn real quick to appreciate normal.

But people in our modern world never got that, so disfigurement became romantic -- and cool, not a thing of tragedy.

As for me, I was very ill as a child and spent months in a hospital ward with other sick kids, many of whom were burn victims or kids with noticeable birth defects. I learned to value and appreciate having a normal outward appearance real effing fast.

The reason I make this connection is that whenever I see people with bizarre tattoos or piercings I'm reminded of kids in that hospital who were born with deformities like harelips, malformed noses, or worse. Why anyone would pay to have their bodies altered is beyond me.

Ladies, important hint here...a tattoo is a statement of lack of class. Period. Not getting one raises your SMV some, your MMV more. And requires neither sweat, nor starvation, nor even spending.

Why women think nipple and clitoral, labia piercing is attractive is beyond me. Wouldn't go near one if they paid me. Like tatoos, they only make the woman uglier.

When I was single, one of my standards - before commitment would even be considered- was no tattoos or piercings (outside of an earing).
Needless to say , it took a lot of ploughing before we found one. She was a rarity. After she met a bunch of other standards - I married her.

Anybody who was around older Navy guys before tattoos hit the mainstream knew how this would play out. 25 years later that "rad" tattoo you got at age 20 looks like a big ugly birthmark. The canvas stretches unevenly and sags, the lines bleed, colors fade. Even if you keep getting it touched up it's going to look like ass after awhile.

A lambda friend of mine got (thankfully small) gauges about a year ago, after encouragement from his coworkers. He had initially decided against getting them, in the interest of maintaining a professional image for his career. I imagine those offering the "hey man, be yourself!" advice were greedily eyeing that next promotion at the same time.

Maybe 5 years ago (and 5 years into a career at a prestigious consulting firm), I opted for some purple extensions. I discussed it with my boss in advance and got them done in a way where they could easily be entirely hidden from view, or entirely removed with half a day's notice. Despite all this, as well as my boss's ok, it was not without its costs. My boss reacted very negatively to the end result, and of course in a few instances I became "purple hair girl." Which is fine. I knew that would happen, and I don't regret it. But it does show very clearly that there is no escaping, or even minimizing, those costs. I suppose that's why the SJW types are so fixated on forcing cultural acceptance of their childish whims, instead of growing the fuck up and accepting that other people don't have to accept you.

@Days of Broken Arrows
That's a very interesting theory. I expect it's a kissing cousin of the willingness to accept savages moving into your country, so add two more D's, "danger" and "destruction", to "death" and "disease".

After all, both phenomena affect progs much more than right-wingers.

People who demonstrate high time preference suck.

That said, a man sporting a tattoo on his face tells the world he's a stone cold killa' (and puts every man around him on "the safety is off" mode.)

Trying to appear different for the sake of exhibiting your "differences" is the essence of conformity.

I considered getting a tattoo for a time, but could never find one sufficiently personal. then I recalled that the Lord gave me a Book which told me not to do that.

I have a friend who is a Filipino native. He wasn't given that book - he's under a different set of rules. He has his culture's full-body neck-down tattoos but you can't see them under normal dress so they don't cause a big problem in the States. And since he lives most of his time in the Phillipines, it has a very different set of bonuses and penalties than it does here.

Please don't give them any ideas.

Tattoos are, and always have been, a sacrifice to the rebellious and malignant spirits. A lighter, more symbolic version of human sacrifice.

(This is why rock stars, criminals and prostitutes sport mandatory tattoos -- an outward mark of their devotion to Satan.)
