With the news coming out today that the sole remaining female Marine has dropped out of the Infantry Officer’s Course (CNN, Marine Corps Times*) it seems like a good time to look into why women in the military are having so much trouble meeting physical fitness requirements. According to the CNN video below from January of 2014, the reason women lack upper body strength is women aren’t taught how to do pull ups. Here is the relevant exchange between CNN Anchor Don Lemon and CNN Pentagon correspondent Chris Lawrence:What I find interesting about this is the way it shows how every female failure inevitably turns into a discussion of male shortcomings.
Chris Lawrence: What they’re gonna do now, is… looking at better ways to train women to do these push-ups [sic]. There is a feeling that from the time they are girls, girls don’t do push-ups, even women who workout religiously and are very physically fit are not working those kind of muscles and trying to build up that bigger upper body by doing pull-ups. So, what they want to do is go in and really teach women better ways to train to do this particular exercise.
Don Lemon: Yeah, working the upper body that’s a guy thing, right? And I mean, guys you see at the gym with skinny legs, big upper bodies.
Chris Lawrence: It’s the beach muscles. It’s the beach workout.
Because no woman can ever fail at anything for any cause other than male perfidy! To admit otherwise would be to jeopardize the Narrative.

And once again, cuckfaggots juxtapose "women" with "guys."

You know the title of the post made me think of the diapers used to help toddler potty-train.
And it wouldn't surprise me if SJWs made that case someday.
Baffling cognitive dissonance. I don't think anyone would argue that women don't have the same upper body strength of men. Yet, it's assumed that, from a practical standpoint, women should be able to accomplish this test of upper body strength that is difficult even for men.
I think it goes back to this feel-good democratized view of human accomplishment. Namely, conditioning trumps natural ability, so anyone is capable of anything with adequate/appropriate training. E.g., a nine-year-old girl could defeat a six-foot MMA champion if she was trained properly and practiced enough.
A little OT, but the female "strong" lead characters is starting to jump the shark. I just saw an ad for Arrival; the tag line is: ONLY SHE CAN SAVE THE WORLD. For F*cks sake, how ignorant can this crap get?
Is not the CNN exchange above indicative of an astonishing level of disconnect with reality, surely large enough to qualify as baying-at-the-moon lunacy?
Have these media clowns only been around small-statured men? Or are they repeating the Big Lie as part of the script?
No wonder women are putting themselves in harm's way. They increasingly listen to this idiocy instead of noticing that the typical man would simply mop the floor with them if he let his self-restraint slip for but a moment.
Today's modern, deluded feminist mistakes masculine self-control for weakness. What idiots.
A couple of slack-jawed faggots who couldn't do a single pull-up.
Women who do Crossfit can do pullups, but most women don't want to do Crossfit.
Watch the crossfit games. Women can do it, they just won't train hard enough.
Men who do Crossfit can do one armed pullups holding the women who can do pullups between their legs, no matter how much testosterone the women who do Crossfit take...
Watch the crossfit games. Women can do it, they just won't train hard enough.
Let's be perfectly 100% honest, this is the fault of nerds.
And gun-toting Christian rednecks. Wreckers, the lot of 'em.
It's always men's fault, one way or another.
You know who needs "beach muscles?"
Warriors.
They didn't decide to make Marines do pullups so they could have beach muscles.
They realized you need upper body strength to pull wounded Marines on a beach, shoulder a ruck sack for 20 miles, load artillery shells, etc.
It wasn't that long ago that Women Marines were given different standards to meet due to this thing called physical reality.
They didn't do pull ups at all, just a timed flexed arm hang. I'll give credit where it's due, the Dead Hang wasn't a cake walk but it was a realistic expectation of what they could do.
Then came the civilian appointees of Obama who apparently thought Xena was based on historic fact and suddenly wanted the WMs to meet male standards which of course they couldn't do.
If you live in Obamastan and there is a disconnect between your expectations and harsh reality. It's reality that's got it wrong.
So now the pullup is eliminated for women and is optional for men. Both can now opt to do pushups instead.
Which bluntly is a major blow to the Corps combat effectiveness. We need to CLIMB things. Lots of things. It's a big part of what Marines do.
You only need to do pushups if you are hopping on and off trucks.
The only ray of sunshine here is that if you cut a 280 and above on this test that maxes at a score of 300, you will now be exempt from height and weight standards.
Which makes so much sense I am absolutely positive that the Marine Corps will feel honor bound to back track it.
So nothing about the fake chosen people ... the jews ... typical addled by christianity morons ...
Jews & do gooder typical christian morons, the bane of the west ...
Islam, christianity, catholicism & judaism = NWO religions designed to destroy traditional indigenous & the ethnicity white cultures
'Roids to the rescue!
Pull-ups? Pshaw... real men do L-sit pull-ups.
A slender, athletic woman in her early twenties can do three pullups, though she has to be in comparatively better shape than the male recruits. But that doesn't even scratch the surface of the problem, since pullups are automatically scaled to the person's weight, whereas real world infantry tasks are not. The lighter you are the easier it is to do a pullup, but ammo cans weigh what ammo cans weigh no matter how well your diet is going.
As I pointed out on Dalrock's site, a 155mm shell (just the shell, not the powder bags) weighs 95 pounds, and it doesn't have handles.
Never mind a 155mm shell, what does a wounded Marine weigh?
A lot more than a 155mm shell!
A lot more than a 155mm shell!
They also flop around a lot more.
You'd be amazed at what the kids can survive now. The rule of thumb now is if you can get them to the wagon they'll probably survive. It was mostly shock that killed the guys in Vietnam.
A female gymnast can do 50 pull-ups without stopping, easily. But then they can't run a mile.
My guess is that few if any NFL linemen can do even a single pull-up. If faced with combat, give me comrades who are 250 lbs and strong as oxen vs. little Asian guys who can do pullups all day and iron crosses on the rings.
When will the women complain they are testosterone deprived and demand injections? Don't think it will happen? Never underestimate the SWF mind for the absurd.
There is a small kernel of truth in that, some exercises are hard to improve in if you start at a very low level. You simply can't do any reps. Pretty sure pullups are one of those.
It's also true that a lot of testosterone is needed to build that kind of muscle.
