If you're not clear on the concept

One of these men is Alpha. The other is Gamma. I leave it to you to work out which is which. Then keep in mind that this is the Alpha's woman.

Who is Mal's woman?

Gonna go with the one of the left. He never served on the Enterprise -- huge gamma tell.

Damn but gammas are creepy as hell.

It sucks to be a short man who lacks masculine presence. At least I imagine so. I'm 6'3".

I think Nathan Fillion is fun to watch, but I never really saw any of his characters as Alpha. Didn't Mal have a bad case on oneitis for Deadpool's gal?

Have to wonder. Is the guy on the left a REAL alpha? Or just plays on on TV?

What can guy on the right do to do the best he can with what he has?
1. Shave.
2. Tuck in shirt or buy one that doesn't need it.
3. Posture.
4. Get a manly job and manly hobbies. Acting isn't going to carry it.
5. Smile like he is in on the joke and not the butt of it.

Cuckliberal, or is that redundant?

The map is not the territory, and the character is not the actor.

He posed for that bit of humiliation. Oh so sad

The sad sack on the right looks effiminate. The beard, if anything, enhances that effect.

In my opinion.

Isn't that Wheaton's wife? Ouch.

His character on "Castle" was quite Alpha, but since it's American prime time network TV he was only there as female wish-fulfillment, to be slowly beta-ized by Stana Katic's inexplicably gorgeous waifish NYPD homicide detective.

Eh, modern network TV isn't for men. Being hired as vagina-candy for women is certainly Alpha.

On a side note I think the dominance of female-oriented entertainment on network TV has left the opening for the success of more masculine cable/netflix dramas ("Breaking Bad," as one example). Probably a lot more market left to capture. None of the men I know watch regular TV anymore, but they devour anything good on netflix.

GB said...

@Happy Housewife:

It's worse than that; his wife is a divorcee who is older than him. Wheaton adopted one of her kids but has none of his own. Very sad.

@1

Fillion is dating a twice-divorced single mom, albeit an attractive one.

She was married to an Iranian, is that officially Mudsharks territory or are Persians on this side of the white line?

Wheaton was a cute kid, but I crushed on Riker way, way harder as a 12 yo. Wheaton's face is too round, it went from baby-cute to soft and chinless as he aged.

Lack of strong features...is that more than just st genetics, is it about hormone signaling at critical stages of development? Not enough T or E growth signals at the right time?

WW is left to fantasize of but one more overnight in the woods with River Phoenix. Yes, the beard makes him looks like a post-op tranny.

Lifting masculinizes faces. I've seen it happen.

If this is meant to be a trick question, I have to think about it.

Despite the fact that the man carrying the woman should be an alpha, why is he carrying her? Can't she walk on her own two feet?

The guy watching it looks left out and probably angry. His posture and dress signals lower status. He can fix this by showing indifference, looking straight into the camera, dressing better, and having a hot girl for himself.

Apparantly I'm not as tall as WW, but I still feel like I'd tower over him. That Gamma lack-of-presence makes a hell of a difference.

No it doesn't count cuz I *BEGGED* Fillion to do it. Plus I got one back on her so it's a tie.

I'd call Wil the King of Cucks, but he's probably been forced to the back of cuck line, too.

WW thinks he is virtue signaling here, we should probably ask to whom.

What is with gammas and being "secure enough" to put themselves in these humiliating positions?

Jed Mask said...

Yep. The picture says it all: whether the man on the right is an actual Alpha or not is not the point: it's about the natural masculine Alpha nature in contrast to effeminate men. Amen.

"The map is not the territory, and the character is not the actor."

Is that supposed to be pithy or something? I thought I made the delineation between actor and character plain enough.

His character on "Castle" was quite Alpha, but since it's American prime time network TV he was only there as female wish-fulfillment, to be slowly beta-ized by Stana Katic's inexplicably gorgeous waifish NYPD homicide detective.

I didn't really watch many episodes (Stana Katic is a NYPD cop ... yeah, right) so you would probably know better, but it seemed like the show was about somewhat doughy Castle chasing after tough-girl Beckett. Maybe I just saw the beta-Castle eps.

So pop culture is trending toward cuck porn (or its precursor?)

So glad Firefly died an early death, avoiding the endless repetition of mindless plots that rotted the entire 2nd half of Castle's too many seasons.

His character was kidnapped HOW many times?

JCclimber said...

I don't think I could even talk my wife into jumping into another man's arms, much less have her do it with a smile.

Maybe if our house was on fire, her leg was broken, and my arms were full with our children already.

I just don't get this kind of relationship. His masculinity level must be close to zero.

Peggy said...

Fillion played an Alpha on Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, opposite Neil Patrick Harris' Gamma, although I missed the ending and can't say how well Whedon wrapped it up.

? I guess I missed your lecture on gay/not gay. Or maybe your gerbil died?

dc.sunsets said...

Mind you, those who appear to confuse the map and the territory may also harbor other...confusions.

What do you really know, for sure, about an actor's actual life, beyond what his PR and Talent Agencies create for public consumption?

The map you see may be no more than one representing Middle Earth, yet you describe it like you've been there. This is amusing.

"Despite the fact that the man carrying the woman should be an alpha, why is he carrying her? Can't she walk on her own two feet?"

There is one scenario where an alpha picks up a woman; when he's carrying her to his bed so he can ravish her. From the expression on her face, and the faces of both men, that is the scenario that all of them are thinking about.

Unknown said...

The Alpha in the photo is the woman. She has the far greater power in this menage a quatre.

Why quatre? Well, the Mother Goddess has not two but three men worshipping at her altar here. One, her masterful tingle-giver. Two, her orbiting errand boy. And three, her team of disseminating propagandists. This quadruple alliance is perhaps at the center of the decline and fall of the West. Mass immigration is a consequence, not a central cause as most people now realize.

The white woman is the cause. She is seeking to fill the endless empty chasms of her discontent. Now the succubus has drained the West of its Alpha bona fides with feminism, it's authors now find it flaccid and impotent.

The warning signs have been there for a very long time, says Mrs Amelia Barr (of female discontent) in 1896:

Some it has made peevish, some plaintive, some ambitious, some reckless, while a majority have found in its very control that serene composure and cheerfulness which is granted to those who conquer, rather than to those who inherit.

But, with all its variations of influence and activity, there has never been a time in the world’s history when female discontent has assumed so much and demanded so much as at the present day; and both the satisfied and the dissatisfied woman may well pause to consider whether the fierce fever of unrest which has possessed so large a number of the sex is not rather a delirium than a conviction; whether indeed they are not just as foolishly impatient to get out of their Eden, as was the woman Eve six thousand years ago.

Nowhere in the world does Eve fool Adam into believing she is the heavenly object more effectively than the White White West today. Check out the Downton Abbey phenomenon.

The white woman's ascendancy (and the alpha/beta idea behind this photo) began in chivalrous Europe in the Middle Ages. Since Henry VIII initiated her untethering from catholic morality in Britain. she has taken the West head-first down the luge to its current and very predictable denouement by her hopeless addiction to herself. As with any other form of idolatry, there is nothing but flames at the end.

The islamist has passed the gates of Jerusalem not because he is better, or because he has a right to the heavenly inheritance. He has passed the gates because he was invited in by the discontented white women and her menage a quatre. Still it continues.

Mal had an unrealistic relationship with a whore thrown in there by Whedon, but he was undoubtedly either an alpha or sigma. The relationship with Inara reflected poor writing more than it actually made sense for the character. Mal is constantly negging her and insulting Inara, which of course makes him more attractive to her.

dc.sunsets said...

The only time the character Malcolm was truly honest & unrestrained was in the movie when he told the bickering crew to either get to work, get out of his way or he'd kill them where they stood.

One respects a man with intense purpose. That's alpha through & through. Our current situation engenders few times and places for men to exercise that level of masculinity. Hard times ahead may change that.

Neoteny = Not enough growth, period. Compare to mongoloids, who are extremely neotenous, and whose faces don't develop strong features. Gerontomorphic people develop specialized facial features.

Aeoli Pera said...

Neotenous people (and subspecies) look more alike than full-grown adults of those species.

Does it appear as though he's straining to lift her to anyone else?

And I agree about it being a mixed blessing that FireFly was cancelled. Joss Whedon is massively overrated as a writer and he probably would have turned Mal into a cuck eventually.

Hell, Mal might be the ONLY male character Whedon has ever touched that wasn't gimped by the writers.

@ Russell Widhalm:
Or maybe sometimes art informs life: Fillion has said that on his first day on set as Captain Reynolds, as he strode up Firefly's ramp somebody said, "Captain on deck!", and all cast and crew present either clapped or saluted. If that doesn't fuel your alpha flames...

I don't know any of the players in the picture. I'm saying the guy on the right isn't happy with the situation and as such should do *something* about it. If the chick is "his" he needs to sort out the disrespect she's showing. If he's an orbiter he needs to grow a pair.
