They can't help it

Ladies just love Alphas and will forgive them anything. Case in point:

But remember, you have to build you status first. Then you can be magnanimous. A magnanimous Gamma is just a fedora-tipping buffoon.

Why all the hate for the Fedora?

True, on a punk kid it looks stupid, but a man in his 50s? A different generation. And I do get a lot of encouraging smiles from the ladies, something I don't get when I don't wear it.

I have a friend who is 84 who just broke up with his 35 year old girlfriend because he wouldn't promise her he wouldn't sleep with other women. He ALWAYS wears a low brim, leather Aussie outback style hat. The men who know him thinkss it looks odd on him but the women all love it!

Just more of the strangeness that is Game.

That's classic Trump right there.

Reminds me of a run in I had a couple of years back with a HB8 at the ABC store.

I was just back from overseas and looking to blow off some steam so I went in to buy a bottle of something (Famous Grouse, if you know your malts).

The cashier was a stunning young coed type - long curly auburn hair, green eyes like a cat, willowy yet stacked. I could see her in my peripherals, checking me out while I browsed the whiskey.

I go to pay and she asks for ID.

I take off my mirrored shades, lean over and look her right in the eyes and growl "I don't need no ID".

Her eyes were all wide. She asks again for ID, but in a husky whisper.

I just lift my shirt and show her my tattoo of The Budweiser. She's biting her lip and her face is all red like she's going to squirt.

"That ID enough for you... sugarlips?"

Needless to say, it was.

I could have gotten her number right there if I wanted. But I had bigger fish to fry.

I don't know how to break this to you, my friend, but those smiles aren't encouraging.

Fedoras are what fat gammas wear to look rakish.

I have fedoras, but I wear them with my suits. I also have a homburg. I only have three (black, dark brown, and light brown), like I have three tones of shoes (black, brown, and cordovan).

Like my 3/4 length coat, I don't wear them with casual clothes.

If the fedora was so alpha, then why aren't Hollywood/business/government alphas wearing fedoras? They set the fashion trend for the betas.

Gammas latch on to things that make them different and special: hats, black mascara, etc. because they need to show the world how special and unique they are.

It differs from peacocking, which quickly left the PUA circuit once loser gammas tried to use it as a crutch and a new approach was needed to help them.

Gamma "Christians" are always so worried about pride. Always seems to be a convenient excuse for never improving oneself.

I think what most consider "fedoras" are actually trilby hats. Thinner, more curved brim.

I have never had any trouble wearing hats. No smirks. Then again, I don't wear any sissy hats, either. Just good old fashioned Cowboy hats.

take a close look at the still shot of Kelly above. Then play the video and watch the cutaway to Kelly.

That's a genuine, full face smile. That's a "moistening the chair" tingle. That's real, genuine enjoyment at being singled out for nationwide attention from a presidential frontrunner.

That's the smile of a woman feeling the tingle.

Mole news is hemorrhaging viewers ever since they ambushed Trump. Obviously Roger Ailes has told the airheads and bimbos to be more cordial and let the system attack him since his fat ass is on the line. Rupey must be pretty upset that Mole News blew their cover and became another dying media dinosaur. Even though he has a new plaything in Jerry Hall, Rupey can't afford to lose the revenue stream with his papers and network losing viewers.

Yeah, I'll not be wearing a fedora without a really sharp suit. And even then, I'd probably feel really old doing so.

the primary issue with the term "fedora" is it means every thing from various forms of western hats, to what we think of as gangster hats, to what Indiana Jones wore.

The term is simply to broad to have any meaning.

Thanks for all the fedora comments! All of them were interesting. And thanks for the distinction relative to peacocking.

All of my life I never wore hats of any kind, except when in the Air Force (My flight cap once saved me from a rabid weasel! I smacked it in the head with my cap as it leapt at me, knocking it stunned to the ground). I never liked them. I found them uncomfortable. My wife would always get me to try on various cowboy hats. Nope! I have no pretensions in that direction.

Then one day I tried on a black, for lack of a more precise term apparently, fedora.

I liked it.

I liked how it looked, I liked how it felt. That's enough for me.

I'm saved. And married. Not interested in gaming anyone but my wife. But any man with confidence in himself can pull a woman along. I've seen shoeless bums with greasy hair attract hot though stupid girls with a "spiritual word salad" that should have demonstrated to all he was either stoned or a borderline psychotic. But the right girls were moist from his every word.

One piece of advice about your accoutrements. Whatever you wear, you've got to OWN it. It has to be a part of YOU.

How do I improve myself without sneering at people whom I perceive as my social inferiors? I see a lot of that here and at Roissy/Hearste's blog.

Scott C., your response indicates you are thinking like a gamma. Increasing one's status through self improvement does not necessitate becoming a sneering arse-hat. You can work out and get in shape to respect the gift of your body that God gave you. You can rise up and lead others to benefit them and do so without being a prideful douche. You can share your opinion that differs from the rest in the room with confidence and purpose with being a raving shitheel.

Self improvement increases one's status. It's not a zero sum game that requires you to tear down others. It's merely becoming the best version of yourself, the full man God made you to be.

Christian handwringing over this shows poor spiritual and theological formation. God might be the god of slaves, but he didn't resign to let them wallow in captivity and just accept their atrophied state. And taking pride in that improvement is different than being prideful and thinking it was all because of you and you don't need God or need to offer him thanks for him giving you the strength and discipline to improve.

That's why I say it's disingenuous faith and is annoying as shit. But then, I'm use to church always being filled with weak men. In this day, they tend to be the only ones who attend because they know they need it...but they treat the faith like a therapists office - just talk about their feelings - rather than as a boot camp for life.

Google suggests the word 'autism' as one of the top searches after 'fedora'. I've only ever met 2 guys in my life that wore fedoras and they were 50+.

Seems to have caught on with some of the younger aspy/hardcore nerd generation: https://www.google.ie/search?q=fedora&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi70afqnrfLAhXD6g4KHX36A2UQ_AUIBygB&biw=1366&bih=643#tbm=isch&q=fedora+autism&imgrc=xfAxxkWwbQXdgM%3A

My personal opinion is that Vox/Heartiste/Rollo etc are very harsh on fedora wearers. Most of them are not gammas. They look like omegas. I think aesthetic choice is perhaps manifestation of the underlying soul trying to seek evolved form. The fedora is a very sigma trait in old times like the commenter above suggested. The imagery some of these people grew up with was a reference of these types - the gangster, cowboy, indiana jones.

Pop culture doesn't celebrate sigmas at all anymore. So theres nothing new to anchor against.

It just looks pathetic now because the wearers are total losers.

But with direction, effort and willpower, I think they can become the thing that is in their mind's eye. They need direction and help, not ridicule. If that was my son, I would find the fashion choice somewhat encouraging as an affirmation of what he would like to be, not damnation by association with other omegas.

But as you say, the next step is to stop with the feminine blame game and ego protection and help the person evolve into something robust, strong and emotionally solid.

Durandel, it necessitates pride if status is an end in itself. It's not just about "self-improvement."

If you don't believe in God, then you'll place more value in success for its own sake. That's why an atheist like Jack Donovan is led to the conclusion that Darth Vader is more of a man than Ned Flanders because his highest value is the masculine virtues, and why the average PUA blogger is led to the same conclusion about someone like Don Juan versus Zoe Gatsby. If there are no higher values than the values arbitrarily assigned to success at attracting women, then serial killers who get marriage proposals on death row are better men than gammas. That is what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about going to the gym to lose weight or having the gall to air controversial opinions.

There's a lot of dick-swinging braggadocio on these blogs, and worse, people who boast about their psychopathic or "Dark Triad" qualities. Of course Christians are going to look askance at that.

Unknown said...

@ Scott - who said anything about seeking status as an end unto itself? You just moved the goal posts of the discussion, typical gamma move. I'm just trying to help you actually have an honest discussion. You asked above:

"How do you build your status without committing the sin of pride?"
and
"How do I improve myself without sneering at people whom I perceive as my social inferiors?"

I answered them. I pointed out that the first has a disingenuous assumption...you can build status without committing the sin of pride. And I also pointed out you can improve without sneering.

So let's see, false assumptions about self-improvement leads to the sin of pride, and then you make passive statements about dick swinging. If you just recently arrived, I suggest you read Vox's breakdown on how gammas communicate and how they can break out of it. For the sake of your soul Scott, not your socio-sexual status, I suggest you read and self-reflect.

Why would I give a fuck what someone else thought of my hat? If I like it, I wear it. If you like it, wear it. I work outside alot.. My dad had pieces of his ears taken off because of skin cancer. I wear what I want, when I want.

ScottC said...

Durendal, we got off on the wrong foot. I asked a question and you made a false assumption about me. You said that Christians are looking for excuses not to improve themselves, which implies that I'm looking for excuses not to improve myself. But you don’t know that, so you're not trying to have an honest discussion with me.

I think your advice was fine, but you didn't confine yourself to it. You went on a hyperventilating rant about "gammas," weak men in church, God of slaves etc. You didn't just answer my question, you went on a tangent because you've grokked me as a "gamma" from a few comments and you have contempt for these men. And your "for the sake of your soul" comment smacks of passive-aggressiveness.

These game/PUA blogs are full of prideful men who are fixated on power and manipulation. But they also serve a positive role in "red-pilling" young men about the nature of women.

I'm not worried that men will exercise or express unpopular opinions. Those aren't prideful things. I’m worried that they will try to climb the rungs of the “sociosexual” ladder as far as they can, which (according to Roissy, at some level Vox Day) is not a matter of being physically fit. It’s about power and control.
