An idea so damaging to women, only a man could have dreamt it up: Catherine Ostler says top doctor's advice on 'menstrual leave' couldn't be more wrong. On the other hand, perhaps Dr. Grudzinkas - surely that can't be a real name - is taking black knighting to a whole new level. It has occurred to me that the fastest way to kill off feminism is to simply grant women even their most outrageous demands. I mean, take the new female quotas for corporate boards in Norway and Germany. Why leave it there? Why not embrace the ultimate black knighting and impose a 100 percent female quota on Congress and force women to assume the entire burden of running the country?
Somewhere, surely, there must be a cigar-strewn cave where misogynistic men sit and concoct evil plans to get women out of the workplace and back into the kitchen. How else to explain the schemes that, on the face of it, look terribly sympathetic and female friendly, but are actually designed to ensure no rational person ever employs a woman again? Take, for example, the plotting that resulted in a woman's right not to tell her employer if or when she was coming back from her year-long maternity leave, making it impossible for firms to plan for either absence or return....
Gedis Grudzinskas, formerly of St Bartholemew's Hospital but now based in Harley Street, suggested that we poor pathetic women should receive 'menstrual leave'. He argued we should be entitled to up to three days' paid holiday — sorry, 'rest leave' — a month because of the bodily upheaval caused by period pains and menstrual tension.
Grudzinskas added that on no account should it interfere with our right to career progression. Yep. An extra 36 days — more than seven working weeks — off each year, just for women. In the real world that's unlikely to sour anyone's 'career progression', isn't it? The male members of staff would never notice.... those who would welcome his proposition for menstrual leave might consider the wider implications of suggesting that women are biologically incapable of working a full month, even out of the best of intentions.
Surely this move is nothing but yet another way to render the 'weaker' sex unemployable.
That's the dirty little secret of feminism. They are usually looking for a free ride, not to shoulder the actual responsibility. So give them the control they're demanding, but be sure to refuse to subsequently do the work for them as they're expecting. This works very well in relationships as well. Whenever a woman is running her "helpful criticism" routine, simply hand her the job, pat her on the back, and say, "Thank you. I expect you'll do a much better job than I possibly could."
Then walk away smiling. It's a win-win. Either you won't have to deal with it in the future, or she'll learn to keep her mouth shut when you're doing something.

For fucks sake, dude! Some us still live here you know!
'They are usually looking for a free ride, not to shoulder the actual responsibility.'
That's probably their basis for false rape claims too.
" Dr. Grudzinkas - surely that can't be a real name "
Actually, it is most likely Lithuanian (or perhaps, Latvian) name; Most likely a play on Gedas, shorter for Gediminas; With Eastern European roots, I'd vote for black-knighting.
..and after quick google search, It seems I'm right (both roots, and black-knighting) - http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jul/03/ivf-fertility-infertility-gedis-grudzinskas
Note how this would also totally broadcast a woman's menstrual cycle to the rest of the office, making it easy to determine when both her period and her ovulation occurred. That kind of telegraphing of her sexual receptiveness betrays a woman's power of sexual obfuscation. If everyone knows Darla is ovulating on Thursday, then that's the day to hit her up for a raise after a couple of subtle dominant displays. The rest of the time you can ignore her. That kind of power betrayal is anathema to the corporate feminist.
My view is that there is absolutely no need for us to do any Black Knighting.
Anything we do is nothing compared to the Black Knighting feminists are doing to themselves.
For decades the mainstream media has carefully (and apparently frantically) filtered all the crazy out of feminism. All of the screeching about things getting stuffed in their vaginas. All the paranoid raving about an all consuming, female enslaving male patriarchy. All the malignant hatred of the male sex drive. Basically, all of the howling insanity in general wound up on the cutting room floor. The end result, that was presented to the public was something that looked strongly felt but was otherwise sane and rational.
Welcome to the age of Twitter and Jezebel.
Did you know that 90% of semen consists of battery acid? It’s true!
Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience
The simple fact is that every woman must be willing to be identified as a lesbian to be fully feminist
I claim that rape exists any time sexual intercourse occurs when it has not been initiated by the woman, out of her own genuine affection and desire
Just to recall a basic fact: Intercourse/PIV is always rape, plain and simple.
I only made up one those. Can you guess which one?
Dude I know, I can’t either! The MSM filters are completely gone and feminism is now a toxic brand as a result. We haven't won yet of course but the damage they do to themselves every time they approach a keyboard is truly immense.
VD,
I think you're missing the bigger problem feminists have with it.
What about the wimminz who go through "the change?" Everyone will suddenly notice their infertility and oldness.
Not to mention the unintended consequence of pregnant women working through those menstrual days.
One of the things that happens when a group of women spend a lot of time together, their cycles synchronize. Whether an eight to ten hour workday five times per week is enough time together for the synchronization to occur I do not know but it would be very funny for every woman in a company to take off the same three days every month. I have a feeling those would be the most productive days for the company each month.
Very nice idea, give them what they ask for. Same goes for blacks as well. It's like the saying goes - "people don't get what they ask for, but they get what they deserve".
"They are usually looking for a free ride, not to shoulder the actual responsibility."
That one line says it all. They want to be known as the wisest and most capable person in the room but at the same time need (demand) the protection only a man can afford against all the "mean" people that challenge them.
Any criticism is written off as abusive behavior meant to derail their noble causes, and of course every intention they have or thing they do is inherently noble.

Or he could be a sarcastic Lithuanian. They do have a strange sense of humor in that part of Europe.
Bring back the Equal Rights Amendment. I was born after it was already a dead letter, but I understand a lot of the opposition to it was led by a woman.
Now, I don't for a second believe that the feminist front would give up their special treatment, even if they supported passage of the amendment; but they would, I think, have to burn a lot of time and money trying to convince the courts that WIC and VAWA and not being draftable are totes equal and stuff.
Damn - late to the party. Was going to say that sounds like a Lithuanian name - and he appears to be a co-author on a book on Obstetrics and Gynecology.

To those of us raised speaking the language the names tend to stand out.
@corvinus
That sense of humor does carry over a bit to the states, at least to the ones who haven't drunk enough liberal cool-aid to understand why their parents moved to the states instead of still living by the Baltic.
@ Cataline Sergius: "I claim that rape exists any time sexual intercourse occurs when it has not been initiated by the woman, out of her own genuine affection and desire"
True (as they all may as well be). This is the underlying principle of rape "culture." Regardless of how she got herself into the position of being penetrated, if she didn't like it, it's not consensual/rape. If she liked it, she'd be begging him to pay attention to her again.
I was born & reared in pre-feminist era by parents born pre-1920. They made it very clear, if you give a man an inch, he'll take a mile, so it's your job, as the female, to not give the inch, and certainly don't be alone with a male and drink unless you're prepared for the consequences. Done. End of story. And, I was never taught men were bad or wrong; I was just taught this is the way it is. While I thought it was BS as a teen in the 70's - no, I thought it was unfair and liked much better what popular culture was preaching - I still had enough sense (or fear) to accept what my parents taught as true and behaved accordingly. Dumb female behavior went on back in my day too; we just had enough shame/sense to not broadcast our stupidity.
*it's not consensual, it is rape.
How else to explain the schemes that, on the face of it, look terribly sympathetic and female friendly, but are actually designed to...
Like universal suffrage?
"Why not embrace the ultimate black knighting and impose a 100 percent female quota on Congress and force women to assume the entire burden of running the country?"
Uh, didn't Castalia House just publish a book where that happened in California? Worked well in that fictional world, didn't it?
That shit works on men, too. I've discovered that NOTHING shuts a complainer of EITHER gender up faster than putting them in charge of solving the problem.
This is why I've come around to supporting extended maternity leave. If you can't ask if the woman intends to procreate then employers all have to assume that they will procreate and take lots of time off work. Less incentive to hire women, and since the women you do hire aren't expected to actually work there all that much you can shove them all into a rotating HR department and still have decent female hiring ratios. I realize that it might not work this way in the "real world," but then again the real world isn't working so well right now anyway. Get those women back into the home nursing their babies and maybe something will get better somewhere.
Let's try walking out for a month and see how the skirts hack it!
Iowahine,
Sure it has to he consensual, but the sticky part is the ubiquitous rape fantasy. Really hard to work that in to the consent picture.
It's a thin thermocline upon which to skate, but some do it well. The trick with being a sith lord is... no one, really, can know. Not even Vader was ever told the whole plan. Further, the truth is, a plan is a plan. It can never be fully created or fully implemented. I am not sure if this is extreme white-knighting, or black-knighting. Though, in many instances, if the result is the same it almost doesn't matter. I can't judge if this would work or not, toward either end of the spectrum. Pro and con, plus and minus, but really the complete variable set is out of my jurisdiction. However, I will... look more at such proposals keeping what you suggest in mind.
Actually, I don't think this would really work. It would help increase the pay difference, if that is false when all factors (including this) are included (should it be adopted). Experience isn't king, but it's one of the two or three pay-scale factors. And this would weaken women's claim for a pay raise even more. Still, if it has to be parsed that thin, I'm not sure I can completely abide that it is black-knighting. It just looks more as if white knights have been neutered and gotten a slight feminine lobotomy, and this sort of rubbish is the result. Useful? A capitalist doesn't bitch about an infestation of lemon trees, he simply makes lemonade... if it pays... or cuts and sells the wood... Can this be used? Yes. The only question is how to use it best for the optimal socio-economic outcome (women staying home as mothers and wives). It's in there, but out of my league to package and sell as such.
Yet women never learn from their mistakes; someone else (i.e., a man) is always to blame.
