A nurse has been struck off after being jailed for falsely accusing her grandfather of rape in a bid to claim his inheritance money. Natalie Mortimer, from Aberdeen, was disciplined at a one-day standards hearing at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in London. And who is surprised by this coda: During her sentencing, she showed no remorse as she left the court dock in handcuffs - smiling at her friends in the public gallery.
The 25-year-old was jailed for 22 months at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in January after being convicted of wasting 175 hours of police time by fabricating claims that her grandfather Gordon Ritchie sexually abused her.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard at the time how she had falsely accused her grandfather of raping her when she was a child so she could get her hands on inheritance money.
She eventually admitted she had made up the sex attack claims - but only after her innocent grandfather had spent time in a police cell following the allegations.
Women will not only lie about rape, they will do so without hesitation or remorse. In fact, most rape claims are false. I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy the teary story produced in halting whispers at 3 AM, or even decline your part as the Consoling Shoulder in the Rape Victim Kabuki Theater if that sort of thing floats your boat. Just keep in mind as you do so that the whole thing is fiction.
And do try to keep a straight face. I once cracked up when a woman told me her Terrible Rape Story, forgetting that she'd told me a different one a few months prior. But honestly, what can you do when THE MAFIA suddenly appear out of nowhere in a Terrible Rape Story?
As to why women invent historical rapes when an inheritance isn't on the line, the answer is simple. Women love drama and they love to be at the center of it. Being a Rape Victim puts a woman squarely at the center of the drama. If you think about it, it's really a credit to them as a sex that they ever talk about anything else.

You just earned yourself another Futrelle blog post.
Had a (former) friend come to me about a guy I was dating about 10 years ago. This was literally our conversation:
Her: I heard you were dating so and so
Me: Yeah
Her: I guess I never told you, but he....well....
Me: Yes, I know you two hooked up. He told me.
Her: No, it's not that. It's that he....you know *low, halting voice with tears in eyes* raped me
Me: *skeptical look*
Her: I mean, he's the best looking guy I've ever gone out with, and, at the time, I thought I was ok with the whole thing, but looking back on it, I see now that it was rape
Given that she was a cow, and he was very good looking, I wouldn't have believed they had hooked up if he hadn't told me. His side was that she got drunk and practically raped him herself; he was too drunk to do anything more than lay there. He was both angry and embarrassed about the whole ordeal, and told me about it only because he knew we were friends. When I told him she told me it was rape, he laughed. That was the last we ever talked about it.
And that was the last time I ever listened to a rape story without rolling my eyes.
The best Terrible Rape Story a girlfriend ever told me ended with she and her dad murdering the four guys who raped her and somehow burying the bodies and getting away with it.
I always found this one very disturbing. Fortunately for some lucky schmuck, the gig was up before she could point a finger at somebody. Amazingly enough a (girl) friend of hers was willing to help her with this falsely staged rape.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A former California prison psychologist accused of staging a home invasion and sexual assault pleaded no contest to a felony conspiracy charge.
Prosecutors say Laurie Ann Martinez, 36, of Sacramento committed the elaborate hoax to convince her husband that they need to move to a better neighborhood.
In Sacramento County Superior Court on Wednesday, Martinez was sentenced to five years of probation and 180 days of electronic monitoring. She was also ordered to pay more than $4,000 in restitution for the police investigation.
Martinez made a frantic 911 call last April after she created a scene in her Sacramento home that appeared as if someone ransacked the place and attacked her. She split her own lip and had a friend, 33-year-old Nicole Snyder, wear boxing gloves to punch her in the face, police said.
According to the criminal complaint, Martinez rubbed sandpaper on her knuckles, ripped her blouse off to expose her top, dropped her pants to the ankles and "urinated on herself to make officers believe she had lost consciousness," The Sacramento Bee reported.
The two women also removed two laptop computers, credit cards, a video game console, purse and camera from Martinez's home and hid them at Snyder's place, according to the complaint.
Snyder, who cooperated with the investigation, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor and was sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation. She was also ordered to do community service and pay the same restitution fee.
Martinez has since lost her psychologist license and was fired from the Sacramento state prison in December.
Online court records show her husband filed for divorce a month after she filed the false report, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Reminds me of a girl I knew in college who "didn't realize she'd been raped" until she found out her boyfriend was also banging a sorority sister of her's

That is rape by Zoe Quinn's standard.
Women never feel remorse for what they do. Since feelings are women's only moral compass, a woman who does what she feels will believe that she is right, which means always. It is for this very reason that I don't put stock in women's estimation of a man's worth. If anything, being a man of consistent and uncompromising principle -- regardless of feelings -- will make most women hate you.
I drove a taxi years ago and was informed by one driver that a Little Old Lady had called up six months after he gave her ride and claimed he had raped her at 2 am on the sidewalk in front of her apartment building. That's the best one I heard, right after the 400-pound woman who thought guys were after her.

Sticking in the knife, and then twisting it, eh Vox?
Reading the Wheel of Time (Vox's all time favorite series), there is a character named Galad, Elayne's half brother.
She absolutely hates him because he always does what is right, no matter the cost to himself and to others. It comes up again, and again, and again, that here is this pretty great man, but many of the main female characters cannot stand him because of his uncompromising standards. None of the men in the book have a problem with him.
Amazing that the same author who created the whiny Rand al' Thor created this as his half brother. Although Rand became much less whiny in the last 3 books after Brandon Sanderson took over the series.
Most of the time a woman has told me about being raped or molested I have assumed it to be, and usually rightly, an invitation to sex. It gets her knickers bunched and her haunches ready, I guess. I haven't always... bitten, but I knew the score. If she tells such stories to groups, she is to be avoided. Too damaged, poison, too and blindly hungry, or setting up for an inquisition. Though if she is using this story as her lead, watch out regardless. Frivolous, if vacuous, fun, if you've been with her for a while, and it's just a once in a great while thing, and she needs an extra bump on a dreary day, I suppose. Crazy, but often they want to... flesh out the story. Not my gig, but whatever gets it done, sometimes. Just... sayin'.
I'd like nothing more than to be able to take VD's word on that, but it simply isn't true. The fact is the rape of men, women, and children, is an all too common thing in the world.
It's a pity you were banned and came back with a new nic, because it took a moment to register who you were and why your posts are worthless.
This is a good reason to not mess around with other men's girls. I've been the other man more times than I care to admit, and the few times the girl was caught, they would immediately claim that I had forced myself on them. Their amygdala is wired for flight or lie.
It is interesting to watch in the development of children. Both boys and girls try to evade responsibility.
But I think society, at almost every single level of interaction with children, holds them to different standards, with the differences increasing as the child gets older.
We hold our son very responsible. But as he gets older, we see the children in his peer group, held to different standards by their parents. And school. And church. And stores, and entertainers, and so forth.
With boys, they seem to be presumed guilty of anything until proven innocent. With girls, they seem to be little angels unless proven beyond the faintest shadow of doubt to be guilty.
Then all hell is unleashed upon the girl when that proof is obtained.
Just kidding. They usually get a stern look and some wrist slapping,
Let's look at the phrase "boys will be boys". Girls will see that as excusing the behavior of boys.
I see it as a subconscious language choice that betrays the presumption of guilt of all boys. I will grant that the phrase usually is then used to justify letting the boy go with a lighter punishment.
Here is the difference:
Boys and girls can both lie about the types of things that get them into trouble.
Boys are usually in trouble for something they did that often has physical evidence - breaking windows, shoplifting, giving someone a fat lip.
Girls are usually in trouble for she said/she said types of interactions. Or he said/she said. Or physical interactions that are difficult to prove "she pinched me" type of thing.
So, one group is more likely than the other to grow up with consequences for their actions.
And now the legal system is setup in code and more importantly, in practice, to continue the different standards.
The extreme "bridezilla" levels of drama I see at work when I document and prove that the women managers are lying is fascinating to behold. Most of them have never been held accountable for meeting attendance, delivering upon deadlines, being on time to meetings, and documenting their actual work output in their adult lives.
Yep most rape claims are false, as are most allegations in general made by females against males in the US, despite their rubberstamping by the 'impartial' courts. There are NO consequences for females in America who falsely accuse males of pretty much anything they want, as their cops and lawyers and Justsis Sistem predators rush in for the group-feed. And a certain percentage of females will accuse and destroy the lives of men and boys for the most trivial and petty of reasons. And yes they will smile at you as you're led away in ankle cuffs.
There are FAR more real rapes (of males) taking place in the mancages every day in this country, than ever occur against females. It's a Happy Hatefest and it is very profitable too, financially and psychologically and for dramatic/vengeance effect. The entire Rape Culture monologue and moneymobile is one of the gynarchy's most effective tools in maintaining its males in a permanent condition of insecurity, obedience, and low-level terror.
Gonna be a big price to pay for it too.
A Terrible Rape Story was related to me once, by one of my daughter's college roomates. She was talking about a girl they both knew who had a jerk boyfriend who bossed her around. According to the roomate, "...he rapes her every night!..." The college girls are literally obcessed with rape and see it everywhere. So now, if a girl does not "realise she was raped", her friends will decide for her. I am convinced that most, if not all of these creepy neurotic nutjobs have rape fantasies that unfortunately include the imprisonment of "Her rapist". Villian-Victim-Hero triangle played out on the Drama Queen Stage.
The few women I know who have suffered Actual Real Life Rape as opposed to College Man Dinosaur Rape generally did not want to talk about it at all, and were either ashamed of it or in one case kept trying to convince herself that maybe she just hallucinated the entire thing. I think the reason why people who have suffered ARLR do not enjoy talking about it is because ARLR is probably one of the more humiliating things a man or woman can go through.
How about this one: http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/sheffield-swingers-club-rapist-guilty-1-6773917
- Girl goes into swingers club with friends, "Just to socialise" apparently.
- Dressed like a slut.
- Takes part in some "activities" on stage, where she was put in stocks and "humiliated" (by the guy who later "raped" her apparently).
- Sits talking with the guy afterwards (along with her friends), whispering in eachother's ears.
- Goes upstairs with her friends and the guy to the "playrooms" to "watch and laugh" at an orgy.
- Splits off from her friends and goes into one of the private rooms alone with the guy.
- Gets "raped", "freezes up" and so on.
- Exits the room with him, rejoins friends, along with him. Club staff say they seemed alright together.
- He'd not returned her panties to her at this point as he didn't want to embarrass her infront of her friends.
- Later goes to the toilets with her friends.
- Comes out of the toilets, instantly goes to the staff, reports the rape, staff, and the man surprised as he's asked to leave.
- They go to police station and report the rape.
Apparently the trial revolved around that she never said "yes" to him, despite being in a swingers club, and going into a private room with the guy after whispering in eachothers ears all night etc. He believed he had consent, her "freezing up" apparently revoked that.
Yes, just in my little world:
1) GF "raped" when she was so drunk she didn't even recall having sex.
2) Friend's wife left him to rejoin man who'd "raped" her in college.
3) Friend's son's fiancée was "raped" in her own home with her father in the next room by a hunting buddy of his and never told her father or screaming.
And on and on it goes...
The effect is a bit like affirmative action. You can't trust a minority degree holder because you assume it wasn't earned. It's a good bet that the black doctor was in the lower decile of his graduating class. You can bet that a rape wasn't a rape.
All the lies completely overshadow those that actually earned their stripes or those that were actually raped. Lies, lies, lies.
One of the funniest things about the sisterhood is how they know men believe their rape charges but they never believe other women's.
Back in the 1950s and 60s when women started to be on juries A LOT more, lawyers thought that the more women on the jury, the better the outcome for any female who accused someone of rape.
WRONG!
Turns out the more women on a jury, the less they believed the victim. All-male juries would always believe a tearing, crying female and convict. Majority-female juries would look at her and think what a faker she was.
Women know that women lie.
It led to hilarious moments where male defendants were demanding that a jury of their peers included people who looked exactly like the accuser.
Rape!
Being a Rape Victim puts a woman squarely at the center of the drama. If you think about it, it's really a credit to them as a sex that they ever talk about anything else.
They really do love their drama.
I thought I was ok with the whole thing, but looking back on it, I see now that it was rape
So, while she was ok with it, was she a willing participant of the "rape"? So if there was this woman who kept after me for three days, and I finally gave in and gave her what she wanted. Then later I regretted it. Would that mean that I was raped? Whew! I feel better all ready.
@ray
Most of those alleged rapes in the "mancages" aren't rapes either. It's a lot of cover for prison guys to claim they were raped when, really, they just went gay in the slammer just to get some action. Blacks in particular are on the downlo a ton and are constantly buttfucking each other in (and out of) prison (hence black HIV rates), but try to save face by claiming they were held down rather than what is more true...they willingly accepted it.
That's the best one I heard, right after the 400-pound woman who thought guys were after her.
That's because she is not big and beautiful, she is just beautiful (and rape is really about power or something).

Not that I liked the show. It was terrible and the guys either were idiots or were cut to be them via the editors.
But I just wonder if there's an angry ex or soon to be ex floating about...
In fact, most rape claims are false.
It may well be the case that most rape claims are false, but I don't see how anyone can claim this as a fact. In most cases where acquaintance rape is claimed, no one but the accuser and the accused can possibly know for sure if the claim is true or false.

More to the point, what ghetto neighborhood does NOT have a bunch of 15-30 year old black men runnin around with their pants BARELY held up above their thighs?
That's not fashion... that's ADVERTISING availability and willingness.

wow... Not possible to prove a rape claim is false?
How about, alleged rapist wasn't even in the same county as the accusor at the time she says it allegedly happened? How about DNA samples not matching, etc.
OVER 50% of rape accusations are PROVABLY FALSE ... and this comes FROM THE POLICE themselves.
The FEMALE head of the New York City prosecutor's office for sexual offences even says that over 50% of the rape claims that her office investigates turn out to be false.
Now, throw in that OVER 50% of "rape victims" recant at some point during the investigation.
Depending on the amount of overlap who knows what the actual false accusation rate for rape is. Some reputable investigations conclude that it could be as high as 90%.
For comparison, according to the FBI, the false reporting rate for nearly every other crime (assault, auto theft, home invasion, etc.) not related to rape complaints is, almost universally 3%.
Oxygen Network ... the "rape-fantasy" movie channel.
wow... Not possible to prove a rape claim is false?
That's not what I said. Of course it's possible to prove a rape claim false--in some cases. It's possible to prove it true in some cases. That still leaves a bunch of them where sex did happen--both sides agree on that--but it's her word against his whether it was consensual.

False, in the opinion of her investigators. I'm inclined to believe them, but I don't accept their findings as proof.
OVER 50% of "rape victims" recant at some point during the investigation.
First, I've never seen this statistic before; where did you get it? Second, it's possible in some cases that the accusation was true, but the accuser recanted under pressure or outright threats from friends or family of the accused.
Yeah, "false" stastic because the others don't want to admit that a FEMALE PROSECUTOR is openly admitting that so many women are pathlogical liars.
First, I've never seen this statistic before; where did you get it?

Is 2870b918-77c0-11e3-b9bd-000bcdcb8a73 the infamous plane (plain?) jane I keep hearing about?
I was in the Army back in the 80's and there was gal in our unit that accused another soldier of rape. From the day she arrived at our unit (we were overseas) she started sleeping with everyone. She was also about 5 months pregnant when she got there. Soon she moved out of the barracks into family housing, since she was getting ready to have a baby. One night she took home a guy from the club, which was her usual practice, and then a couple of days later accused him of rape. She asked me to testify for her in his court martial, as a character witness. I honestly told her I thought she was biggest slut on post and there is no way she wanted to have me testify for her. I don't know what eventually happened to the guy, but I'm sure his career was over either way.
I also know of a woman (we participate in a Christian women's mommy group forum on-line) who accused her own husband of rape in Ohio. He was convicted and is serving 3 years. So, it happened 3 times and in between she continued to share a bed with her alleged rapist and cook his meals? She had 6 children with her "rapist"? If she didn't like him, couldn't she just leave? Did she have to destroy his entire life?
We don't have a culture of rape; we have a culture-of-lying-about rape.

Nope, that response doesn't cut it here. It's a weasely tactic that allows you to gainsay counterarguments to any given Google result, saying it wasn't the best result. Give an URL that you are willing to stand behind.
