Equality and entrepeneurialism

Say what you will about the public school system, but at least they are teaching girls that they can not only do the jobs that men historically did, but that they can start their own businesses too:
An 18-year-old Hopkins High School senior cheerleader allegedly used her sophomore teammate as a prostitute, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County. Montia Marie Parker, 18, of Maple Grove was arrested on one count of second-degree felony sex trafficking, and one count of felony solicitation, inducement and promotion of prostitution.
Sure, she might need a lecture or two on the relevant state laws, but isn't this exactly the liberation from the rule of men that feminists have been seeking for the last 40 years?

I was thinking cheerleader.

She cheers you own as she close the deal in secret.

I knew cheerleaders were flexible, but this is ridiculous.

...and the complaint states Parker never shared the cash that the victim earned.

So it would have been ok, had she shared the money?

It's actually even more grotesque. The victim is receiving special ed services, and apparently a number of students know exactly where to advertise their wares.

I guess the kids are learning something, but how to make a living without exposing themselves to every disease and crime that can come with any John Wayne Gacy wannabe is not among those things learned.

Why is the whore a "victim" here?

I cannot believe the patriarchy is moving to squash a young girl expressing herself and another one just starting out in business. Why that 18 year old should get an ACORN grant!

Now, THAT'S grrrrl power!

Go, Pimpy Longstockings, go!

When it comes to women, it is always ok to share.

mmaier: it's not clear in every article, but the actual whore, as opposed to the madam, is seen as a victim by the law because she's receiving classes for the "developmentally disabled", or to use the word we grew up with, "retarded".

The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in the homogametic portion of the population.

You would be surprised, I think, at the number of pretty college girls I meet who, it invariably turns out, are also working as part-time escorts and/or adult industry performers.

It even makes a charming cynic like me wince a little.

Bike Bubba: why should that matter? Don't liberals say kids and retards need to be sexually fulfilled too?

OK, that was sarcasm. I'm not quite that cynical yet. Thanks be to God...

Bike Bubba: Do -you- see her as a victim?

Bike Bubba said...

Largo; in that she was robbed, yes. In that her moral sense may have been impaired by schools and possibly also government welfare programs "benefiting" her, absolutely.

Completely conned into this? Depends on how disabled she really is, I guess. This is one for the jury to decide.
