Comment registration

I'm very sorry about this, but it's going to be necessary to register at one of the various options listed to comment at Alpha Game from now on due to an absolute blizzard of Anonymous spam comments.  Someone obviously figured out how to get past Blogger's spam filters on the new Blogger templates, because I've had to delete over 300 spam messages just today.

I know registration is a pain, and it's annoying, but it's not as bad as having to skip past 15 spam comments for every real one.

Hey Vox, I absolutely understand. This is, of course, related to Sunny and AA?

I confess I'm slightly ignorant of the mechanisms behind directing spam, but could someone be intentionally giving you a hard time? Someone with a warren, for example?

This is Sensei, by the way.

I'll take registration over spammers any day of the week.

No. It's the standard stuff, the Blogger filter just isn't picking it up.

WordPress + GrowMap Anti Spam Plugin + iptables solved all my comment spam problems.

Peculiar. My consort deals with ours, and she informs me the filter manages to catch all, save the odd one or two.

However, doubtless fewer spammers wish to draw my wrath than yours. I am a most formidable being, after all.

Practice comment. That's an excuse to go off-topic.

The Social Pathologist has been looking at the relationship between the flavors of leftism and SMV. Here's a quote he pulled from Keith Lowe:

"Many women across Europe embarked on such relationships with Germans during the war. They justified their actions by saying that "relationships" based on love' were 'not a crime', that 'matters of the heart' have nothing to do with 'politics', or that "love is blind'. But in the eyes of their communities, this was no excuse. Sex, if it was with a German, was political. It came to represent the subjugation of the continent as a whole: a female France, Denmark or Holland being ravished by a male Germany. just as importantly, as I have already mentioned in Chapter 4, it also came to represent the emasculation of European men. These men, who had already shown themselves impotent against the military might of Germany, now found themselves communally cuckolded by their own womenfolk."

Sounds like modern Scandanavia, no?

Remember when Roissy suggested that someone should write a romance novel where the ALPHA is a Nazi SS? Well, that's the entire plot of We The Living by Ayn Rand, except it was in Russia, and the KGB agent was the BETA cuckold.

Testing the name that comes up when authenticating as a WordPress user.

Agreed.

Why would anyone post something without attaching a name to it?

I'm registered on several systems, so to me it's not a big deal. I never comment anonymously.

Anything but CAPTCHAs though. I hate those things. They almost seem rigged to not accept comments, no matter how accurately you type them.

Let's see if this works...I usually use Discus.
