She's got your back

As long as it is safe for her, anyhow:
Video footage of the April 4 murder-suicide has not been released to the public, but sources confirm that Detective Patricia Wilder not only was in the room as the tragedy unfolded, but that she fired a shot at Powell as Smith and the suspect tussled. The video shows Wilder’s shot missing Powell and then the magazine falling from her gun. Her firearm disabled, Wilder left the room. Powell was able to grab Smith’s gun and shoot the detective four times before killing himself.
It is fairly easy to anticipate women's actions so long as you remember that they view absolutely everything through a filter of "will this endanger me in any way?" first.  This is not a bad thing, it is a necessary thing, in fact, because the preservation of its females is the first and foremost concern of any species that wishes to survive.  The female "flight or flight" response is the flipside of the Islamic world's honor killings and general repression of women; the object is to preserve the breeding population.

A population of genuinely fearless women is likely to go the way of those island animals with no natural predators faced with an influx of hungry seamen, rats, and ships cats. Which is to say, extinction.

However, this is also why attempts to instill male virtues into women are destined for failure.  All the training in the world is not going to overcome the natural and necessary instinct to propagate the species.

How can you possibly blame her? She was out of the room at the time!

Vox, this is just wrong. They allowed women in combat because they're just as likely to handle conflict as men are. It's not like our leaders would use the military as a giant social experiment. I'm assuming they have some pretty comprehensive confidential studies confirming this!

Its been a while but I did run across a stat that female officers were by far more likely to use deadly force lacking sufficient means to use intermediate force.

If this guy's partner was a man Powell would have been engaged with both of them and it would have been unlikely for him to get the gun.

I have a fight or flight response too. Whenever danger presents itself I jump out of the way and let my girl at the time face it. Always another girl on the girl tree, I say to myself.

Why Wilder left the room is unclear, but law enforcement personnel said there are several legitimate reasons for her exiting, including to reload her weapon, to retrieve another weapon or to go for help.
Perhaps she's French. Run Away!! Run Away!!!!

Uh-huh. Then she hands her gun to danger and danger shoots you.

I hope pua stand for premature undertaker's advance!

The story also states the perp commited suicide by shooting himself in the head.
Twice.
Hmmm.

Just proving that people do not, in fact, kill people; guns do.

Brave, brave Detective Wilder, bravely ran away.
When danger reared its ugly head,
She bravely turned her tail and fled.
Yes, brave Detective Wilder turned about
And gallantly she chickened out.
Bravely taking to her feet
She beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Detective Wilder

More seriously, she must not have had the magazine fully engaged for this to happen:

The video shows Wilder’s shot missing Powell and then the magazine falling from her gun.

I'm pretty sure this falls under the category of "user error". The next question is, why didn't she grab her backup magazine, insert it in the pistol and then release the slide lock in order to finish what she started?

Or she hit the release.

Hold her to the standard she claims to believe in, the same as a man. Fire the coward.

You're on a roll today, Loki. Thanks for the laugh(s).

Nobody will say the obvious.

She was useless without a gun (and unable to effectively engage), and useless even with a gun!

And this is systemic to government departments.

ENOUGH!!!

women make great district attorneys, judges, and jail guards for their gynogulag ... v passionate about their jobs!

as long as no actual courage (nor any other masculine attribute) is requisite then hell, the grrls far surpass males in disposition to torture, mock, lie, and bully... everything needed for the JustSis Sistem, testrun abu ghraib!

fortunately with the permanent depression eh economic downturn, it's easy to hire sufficient numbers of malethings to do the direct-thugging part: nfl rejects, failed criminals, boys just back from the mideast, plenty fresh tools

yet those darn gals just HAVE to wield guns themselves, no wonder they tossed freud from the canon

What a maroon. She was so scared, her gun shit a brick.

She was probably using one of those "High Powered" Magazines. They're so high powered that sometimes they just fly right out of the gun.

'She's got your back'

yup, easiest entry for a blade

by the time you stop bleeding, youll discover that the week prior, she received a Restraining Order against you... just to get the proper Narrative rolling, y'know . . . and while youre being sticthed, already the DA and Sheriff's Dept have heard the story, and are enraged at you for harrassing the darling

her cousin Jennifer is the asst. d.a., so you can expect some charges for causing her to get mad, p.s. if you open yr mouth to object (about anything) wahl thas Gross Verbal Harrassment, currently a misdemeanor, though in their Justsis and Equality you can probly plead out to a lesser criminal charge

but fear not! the local, state, and national Women's Lawyers Associations are pushing for promotion of your crime to Felony (zero tolerance, must arrest male) so the whipped ox might not groan (lest other uppity oxen imagine they are pigs too!)

Wow, ray, way to make this all about you. Here a man's DEAD due to a woman's incompetence, and you want to talk about your divorce AGAIN.

Reminds me of this video I saw a couple years ago of a shootout at a Detroit police station. Note how some of the male officers return file even after being being completely caught off guard and wounded, while one terrified smaller individual just curls up on the floor behind the desk and waits it out. If I remember correctly, there was speculation that this person was a female cop, and talk about her freezing under fire. But I can't find any reference now other than mention that a female sergeant was hit in her bulletproof vest by shotgun fire and it "probably saved her life." No, it was men with balls and no instinct to cower who saved her life!

We clearly need to ban high powered assault shotguns.

There's some pun about gamma rays there somewhere.

There are "several legitimate reasons" for leaving your long-time partner alone in a life and death struggle with a desperate subject, provided that you're completely worthless in a physical altercation and shouldn't have been on the force to begin with.

Every time I watch a video where the camera gets dropped at the climax of the shot, I know it's a woman doing the filming.

They drop the camera so they can exclaim and scream.

Men stand steady and film the damn car wreck.

One shot and then the magazine dropped? So, in other words, she panicked and accidentally dropped the magazine out of the gun? The gun should have chambered the next round, even if the mag dropped--that is, unless there was only one bullet in the gun. So unless I'm missing something, she very clearly shat her pants and ran. And her gun probably had another bullet loaded in the chamber when she did so.

Or she could be completely incompetent. Either way...
